My daughter went there from TK to fifth. Some teachers are really amazing and very helpful. She was fully supported for her learning disabilities. The downside is that if you are not part of the Russian evangelical community, the bullying is intense, and very few staff and teachers will do anything about it. Most staff were also Russian, so they saw no problem with students calling my daughter 'witch' and telling her she is going to hell, before excluding her from any activities on the playground or at lunch. The few friends she had were other minorities. The Russian families are strongly against the teaching of topics like evolution, family life, or anything else that you might find in a normal post-1870 curriculum, so sometimes that flares up in the classrooms as well.

Our boys have attended GIS for two years now and we couldn't be happier. Teachers, principal and staff are all friendly and really care about each student and their success. Our oldest will be off to high school next year and we are very sad to be leaving GIS. Switching to GIS was the best decision we could have made for our boys!

So far it's been great! It's our 2nd year here (TK/Kinder) and my son has learned so much! The teachers have been awesome too!

My experience has been great. Class sizes are small (24 students per class in second grade), teachers are responsive and attentive, children are mostly well-behaved, free meals (not based on income, but because school received a grant for 3 years giving it the opportunity to provide free meals to everyone regardless of income) and I feel my child is safe there (good neighbourhood).

Excellent. It really teaches students to think globally.

I would say overall good, especially compared to what else is available in the area. I feel the school has good leadership, teachers who expect more from their students, well behaved classrooms, and pretty responsive teachers and support staff. A very low turnover rate says something about the quality of the environment. Just know going in that the school is predominantly Russian and you will have to speak with your kids about standing up for themselves and combating bullying and racism from the mostly white population of kids.

My son applied through the lottery to have his 5 year old attend this school, he asked me to go to the lottery to see if his son was selected. The entire multi-purpose room was filled with russian speaking parents, I was the only one in the room other than the Principal who spoke English. One school official spoke in English another had to translate to Russian. Half way through the lottery several of the Russian speaking parents began arguing quite loudly with the school administrators...it was just bizarre. When I told my son what had taken place he withdrew his application for this school. He wanted him in an IB program with a diverse student body but it seemed like he would have been one of the few native English speakers in the school. This school should make it clear to applicants that it's focus is on Russian speaking students

10/10 my children go to this school and the teachers and staff are very caring. The school is constantly being remodeled and developed for the future.

Awful. Surprised that such school exists today in this great country.
