Floren Elementary’s systemic issues severely fail its students on multiple levels. The principal and vice principal, dismisses concerns, whether shared verbally or in writing, fostering a culture of inaction and neglect. Staff appear disengaged, prioritizing paychecks over student needs, and set a poor example by ignoring accountability. Policies strip away students’ rights, creating an environment where safety, emotional well-being, and trust are neglected. Despite the risks to my position, I have repeatedly advocated for these children, as their well-being is more important than anything else. It is heartbreaking to see their needs consistently overlooked and their voices silenced. This neglect is causing lasting harm, and the students deserve better—a safe, supportive school where they are valued and respected. I will continue to stand up for these children because they deserve someone to fight for their rights and future.

I thought this was a great school initially My kids got great grades here. The problem was going to JHS it turns out they didnt learn much. And based on testing after poor performance they were both way below grade level. I think they are giving out higher grades to offset the curve. Honor roll students dont generally enter JHS with 5th grade placement testing results!!

When I finished 6th grade here at florin it was an amazing school!! Throughout the years I've been here ( k-6) it has been awesome! And well now I'm in 8th grade LOL but yeah. The only teachers I didn't like were Ms. Rivera and Mrs. Hansen, because they're so mean to the kids and I've had ms. Rivera for 4h grade and I me she was a good teacher but my friend who also had her said that when she opened the door to come in she accidentally hit her in the face and it looked like ms. Rivera was going to hit her. Anyways, I absolutely loved my 6th grade year especially my teacher Mrs. Drager c: she was a fun teacher! But I'm sad that ms. Perry isn't going to teach 6th grade. I loved being at florin!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Pasley, the school principal. I like the fact that he cares for his students. I go to work after dropping my kids to school and I don t always have the time to stay there with my kids till their teacher comes for them. I do feel comfortable knowing that the principal is keeping an eye on students all the time. He will NOT leave campus till the last child is gone to their classroom. He always makes sure no child is left behind campus without supervision. Now, that is very important. Thank you Mr. Pasley!

I am so grateful to all of the teachers that have helped my kids through this school. It truly is the hidden "gem" of the district. The teachers are wonderful and they go above and beyond what it takes to help kids. Even though our neighborhood is considered somewhat tough..I feel that the teachers do whatever they can to help my kids prepare for middle and high school. The Friday assembly is my favorite part of the school. Parents, teachers, and students come together to celebrate kids!! Mr. Pasley does a great job trying to learn the names of all of the students and he's always there whenever I need to ask him a question.

Florin Elementary School is the best kept secret in the Elk Grove Unified School District . The office staff is amazing. The principal is approachable and easy to talk to..the teachers are hard working and do what's best for kids even when their paychecks are getting cut every year..The school-wide activities are amazing and the after school program is incredible. You won't find a more supportive school anywhere. We recently moved and I truly miss this school. I read the last two posts and I'm sure it's from the one angry parent who has

This school has the lowest test scores, and some of the teachers are just plain evil!! I can specify the teachers names are Mrs Hansen, and Mrs Rivera. Mrs Brown gives out prizes for test scores and Honor roll etc...My daughter is in High School now, and still has yet to receive the tickets to the River Cats or the gift certificate. I find it hard to believe that anyone could be so mean to children!! I am appalled that they keep these people working there. Obviously the principal and other supportive staff are just completely apathetic. I wish there was a better school for my children to attend. We have one year left with this school and we are done forever!! I would suggest...urge you if you are thinking about sending children to this school to look for a better choice.

Florin Elementary is a very "family friendly" school to work at. Staff often refer to it as the "Florin Family". We have wonderful students and families and the teachers take the extra steps to make sure their students are getting a superior education. Guest teachers often comment on how friendly our school is.

My three children have gone to this school for the last couple of years and are just beginning their third year. I am active in the school and have found most of the staff very kind and caring with their first priority being the wellbeing of the students. The Principal, Mr. Pasley is very hands on and on top of things while being active in most school activities. I do not understand the low rating for this school; as a very hands on parent with my children I would highly recommend Florin Elm. to anyone wanting their children to get a good education while creating great childhood memories at a caring but no-nonsense atmosphere.
