Great school, but has to be sure to pay attention to students of all levels of acheivement (high as well as low, and not to forget about the middle).

This is a small quality school. With Four boys in the school, the oldest starting when in second grade, we have seen very good results. The band has good leadership as does the chorus. The Drama department is undergoing change right, expected it to emerge even better than before. Productions are of the more modern plays and musicals. Sports have been in flux for the past couple of years as well. The principal retired after 26 years. The new principal left because her husband was unable to find a job in the area. The lack of good jobs in the area hurts this school. Three years ago the 281 schools in Vermont were rated. South Royalton was one of only 81 schools getting a passing grade. Programs are currently influx. They have added French to the eighth grade curriculum. Spanish became an online course though that is rumored to be changing this coming year. Our children have fared well in this school and grown. This includes our child with Asperger syndrome, though the special ed people dealing with the younger grades needed some education from us. The special ed personnel for the middle and High school have been great. Over all this is a great school with good experiences.

This school is abolutely fantastic. Great staff, great ciriculum, total town involvement and everything you could possibly want to give your child for a great education. Numerous Advance Placement clases, band , plays, athletics and may extracirular activties. A brand new gym. Many alumni have gone on to do incredibe things as adults.Most of all a highly dedicated staff and adminstrataors. Highly rate! !A 10+
