I went to elementary for k-6 here from 2015 to 2022, and it was.. okay. There was a lot of discrimination from students since they merged with Staley while I was in 6th grade, and the school got extremely overcrowded. The teachers I had were kind towards me and the other students, but the students made it hard to learn anything, especially during online classes. None of that was an issue before that, so I blame Staley for that. Overall, it's a pretty decent school for an elementary, but I wouldn't send a child there myself.

I have had nothing but one issue after another with this school. I have never had such a terrible experience with a school system as I have with Bellamy. I will say some of the staff does go out of their way to help you and I have appreciated that, but the principal who just recently had a leave of absence does bare minimum when it comes to children with special needs. I have dealt with this matter for two years now and still nothing has been resolved and instead they are making it as if I am to blame for my sons actions. Again I will say some of the staff goes out of their way to help you, for example Miss Emily and Miss Aly are both two people who have been very understanding and doing their all to give me the guidance and resources I need. I do NOT and I repeat this do NOT recommend this school if you have children with special needs and need those services. They have turned my son away numerous times giving me every excuse why they can't do anything on their end. This is the first school I've had any issues with when it comes to special education. I am now debating on pulling my son from the school and home schooling him. He used to love school and now he hates it, he would come home on numerous occasions crying due to being bullied either on the bus or at the school. When I would bring it up to his teacher and the other staff at the school they would deny everything and claim that they watch out for the children. Obviously they don't, bullying is another down fall with this school. I know other parents who suffer with the same when comes to bullying. Now I will say the bus system and everyone there has been really great. When I reached out and explained what was going on with my son on the bus they fired that driver and put a monitor on his bus, now with the monitor that isn't always something they can do due to the shortage but they do try. They also monitored the bullying on the but from older students and handled it when it happened, they also were very good with reaching out to me something Bellamy also lags. My daughter hurt her ankle in school and I was never notified. She came home with an ache bandage on her ankle and an ice pack. I wish I could say something more positive but this school is terrible.

I am saddened and upset by the actions of the current principal. She has been informed multiple times to notify me of matters regarding my son, per a court order, and yet she has refused to comply. Even going as far as humiliating me in front of another parent in the school's lobby then having me barred from entering the school. Well, Molly Mytech, I am pursuing this matter further because what YOU did and how YOU behaved was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. You should focus your energy on doing your job as a principal to better your school that has a reading and math proficiency of only 9% as opposed to belittling your student's parent.
