This school just simply does not care if your child has any sort of learning disability and will do absolutely nothing to support them. They will demean them, and make as if it is their fault that they aren’t perfect students. Teacher communication is horrible and the superintendent backs poor administrators and teachers. He does not care as long as the ratings are high and those who fall short are non of his concerns. This is not the place for your children if they do not learn by traditional methods and nothing will be done to help them succeed besides discipline.

We moved to Rockwall from CA last year by this time. My elder son started going to 9th Grade after joining here. So far, we are happy with the school and the staff. Management is so nice and they are always helpful to resolve all kinds of study related issues. I am happy with the security inside the premises and we used to get all school updates in email or phone calls. I would recommend this school always.

We moved to Rockwall from Dallas after elementary school ended. We’ve had an amazing experience with RISD! Our son has some learning issues and the support has been fantastic. He also participates in the football program which is second to none. Fantastic facilities and coaches.

Beware in this school anyone can complaint on students reputation, anyone can make up stories to clean their bad reputation, they lie to authorities without care on the school reputation. Assistant principals are not careful guiding students. Teacher’s have very bad communication skills with students, students are blamed on their mistakes and the school office protects the bad teacher. The other parent is correct, the student gets 50% because teacher mistakes. The school uses many teachers substitutes and makes the academically “grow” even bad. Do not move to Rockwall if you have HS children to attend. Beware!!!!

Beware Rockwall High School!!!!! If a teacher makes an error, the student will be blamed. The administration "always" backs the teacher. The student received a 50 instead of a 100 because the teacher had poor communication skills. Sad to see great student in top 3% treated this way!

I agree with some of the other reviewers, this is a very safe and wonderful school, (with expensive property taxes!) with super nice people everywhere, however, we have had very frustrating conflicting advice we discovered from the counselors we assigned. The old saying, "it just depends on who you talk to," on who is right.Each year, we seemed to get different answers to the same questions as far as classes and career goals. The counselors are usually teachers who double as both professions. My daughter who on the honors program taking AP classes , can no longer take 1st period Orchestra,or 1st period anything, because 1st period is the only time that they have for certain AP classes. Why only have AP classes on the most needed period of day where many activities are scheduled? This needs to be changed. Also, THE RISD and THIS SCHOOL NEEDS A MORE PRESTIGIOUS GIFTED AND TALENTED CURRICULUM! Compared to other schools and rankings.

This school has proven to be a good academic school. There are some excellent teachers and a few not so good teachers. The biggest downfall of the school is the counseling department. My daughter is a senior and there has been NO help with college preparation at all.

I'm a student at Rockwall and I have to say it is probably one of the best and most competitive public schools in North Texas (academically speaking). In fact, so kids will even transfer over to Heath their senior year because they will hold a higher class rank there than at Rockwall. Last thing, is that there isn't really bullying as you would normally think of bullying. At Rockwall, people bully in such a way where they are sarcastically your friend (which I think is even worse than insults or physical bullying) but even then there's not much of it. So just don't offended anyone and don't buy drugs.
