Staff members decide right from the start weather you will “fit in” or not. Your child will suffer if the decision is you don’t. Horrible communication from both the teachers and front office, no one ever seemed to have a clue what was happening. The principal (Swartz) is just as clueless when it comes to the school and students.

Children are challenged, teachers are caring and dedicated, staff is organized and efficient, and the Pastor, Father Ivan, knows the community and students by name and is very spiritual and dedicated to the parish and school.

The school has a great education for the children. Very clean and safe. Beware of favoritism, clicks, and spending lots of money. Every week it's a new cost for something. If you are a single parent on a budget and can't get into the school to volunteer as often as you would like then maybe this school is not for you. They have a log of who is tithing and doing their volunteer hours, I felt singled out and never "good enough". Lots of snooty, up tight, fake people and this includes the staff. Keep in mind your child stays with the same children for years, so if there is any issues they have to deal with it. The staff pretty much determines weather they like your child from the very beginning. If there is any type of behavior issue or disability, you will know, they make yours and your child's life a living hell with emails, and conferences, over petty, normal child behavior. It's really a shame. And don't forget to attend mass every Sunday! They are watching you!! After talking to a few people that pulled their kids out, I'm happy with my choice of pulling my child out before they destroyed my child's, personality and spirit!

Fantastic school. Our daughter has been attending since kindergarten and will be a third-grader this year. Great teachers, challenging curriculum, a range of exciting extra curricular activities and a nurturing environment that supports students on their quest to become critical thinkers and future leaders. We are so happy with our choice. And my daughter wakes up each morning eager to get to school. We have no doubt our 2-year-old son will follow big sis to St. Mary's.

We enrolled our granddaughter in a public elementary school in Melbourne after moving to Florida. It was a nightmare. There was no discipline whatsoever. Students ripped pages out of textbooks and threw them at the teachers, threw the books themselves, spit food at the teachers, etc. Our granddaughter was bullied constantly and the school did nothing. We pulled her out and homeschooled her the last six weeks when she said that the bullying was so bad that if we forced her to keep going, she was either going to run away or hurt herself. We did a lot of research, toured schools and interviewed principals. We chose St. Mary's and will never regret it. Small class sizes, caring teachers, individual attention, responsiveness to concerns - it's all there. This school is the best kept secret in Brevard county.
