KDM is a fabulous elementary school for the area. It houses the school district's Autism and Multiple Disabilities programs, which makes it a great inclusive environment for students of all abilities. They also have other Special Education programs available if your child needs additional support. KDM's mental health staff does a great job with identifying social issues among the kids. I feel my child is completely safe when she's there. She experienced some typical girl drama with friends, and staff immediately stepped in to help diffuse the situation. Specifically, she speaks highly of the Guidance Counselor and School Psychologist that has checked in with her several times. I know there has a proposal made to renovate/expand all of the buildings in the school district, which needs to be voted on to pass.

KDM is a fine school- not great, but not terrible. The building needs some serious work, because there are leaks in the roof over the cafeteria and in the fifth grade hallway, as well as other more minor maintenance issues. The staff is pretty good, but they don't seem to notice bullying unless it's pointed out to them, which as a public school employee in another district, I find disturbing.

When we moved from California to NJ one of our main concerns was the school system and experience for our daughter going into 4th grade. Immediately she was accepted and treated with kindness. The entire staff have been very helpful and superb in granting her education. The PTA has wonderful programs to help support the school and the students. The parents are very involved. It is such a refreshing change from where we were. I am sad we had to move and are no longer in the school district. KDM and all of the staff will be missed by my family.
