I wish that I possessed the words to convey to everyone just how wonderful this school is. After retiring from 30 years of teaching, I wanted to find a school where respectful, kind students wanted to learn, a school where the faculty loved and cared for the students and each other and bonded into a family, a school that had challenging and worthy curriculum, a school where God was not just honored but lifted up each day, a school I would have happily sent my own children. I searched through many schools, went to interviews, observed classes, talked to faculty. I had to broaden my circle -- an hour drive -- to find such a school.I have never felt so welcome or so at home at any school. The students are unbelievably kind and generous. It is a pleasure to get up every morning and head to my classroom! The curriculum focuses on developing a well-educated and discipline adult--someone who values the true, beautiful, and good. By the time a Providence student is a senior, he/she knows not just the rote material but how to apply knowledge, how to think and reason. Providence students are exposed to the best and most beautiful literature ever written, math that is applicable to real world situations, reason and logic that expands outside the classroom walls, and to the Word of God that is unfiltered by worldly influences. The administration team is solid -- knowledgeable, caring, and Christ-centered.If you are looking for a safe, Godly home for your children and your family, you will find it here.

Providence Classical School is a fantastic school and worth every penny. They provide a Christ centered education with a curriculum that is true to Western Civilization, it teaches true Biblical worldview and it is challenging. Having worked with pediatrics (children) at a higher lever for over 24 years and seeing firsthand child development (or lack of it), I can attest to classical education as being the proper method in teaching a child. It speaks to their mind, helps them develop proper critical thinking skills and expands their breath of knowledge that has been long missing. In addition, the teachers are excellent, dedicated and truly love being at Providence Classical. There are many great things that my family could write about but leaving it this. . . . it is a great school, it is a safe environment in and outside of the school, there a multitude of sports/clubs/activities for all age groups to get involved in, the administration is outstanding and Providence provides what children should be taught.

First of all, a good teacher is hit or miss. One of my teachers seems to heavily favor certain kids, while one of my other teachers treats everyone equally. Certain kids do get more passes for incomplete or missing homework, but they are the kids who almost never forget or don't complete their homework, so it's understandable. The subjects are good, teaching us material we will actually use. On top of that, they have some good extracurricular activities such as sports, crochet club, chess club and more. They have an award ceremony near the end of the year where kids are given medals. Ways to win a medal are memorizing Horatius At the Bridge, doing well on the NLE( National Latin Exam), etc. The dress code is bearable, but for chapel, or any other special event you're required to wear a more dress- like uniform. The uniform varies depending your grade( spoiler, the high school uniform terrible- to me at least). Bullying isn't a big issue in the lower grades, but in the upper grade levels I wouldn't surprised if it was an issue there. The homework is more than what a public school on average would hand out, but it really depends on the teacher. They have a limited amount of sports you can play, some rules are dumb, but overall, not that bad. There are a couple of things that I think are just terrible rules or things about the school. First of all, favoring is a major problem with the administration. Their kids can just bypass the school dress code( short skirts, hair length( yes, boys can't have long hair). Her kids' friends also seem to get passes with those type of things as well. Second, she will find every way possible to get you to give her more money than what you will be paying for tuition if you go here, which is expensive. Third, some of the teachers and staff members can be rude. Lastly, the administration won't pay any attention to any of your concerns, or at least some of them. They will either give pretty mean- sounding, if not literally just mean replies to questions, or they might not even reply. They definitely see your email, they just don't respond. The basically leave you on "read".If you plan on going here, consider the possibilities of getting a teacher that loads you with homework, bullying( mainly if your kid in going into the upper level grades), extracurricular activities he/ she might want to play, or any if the things mentioned above.

Providence (PCS) is unlike almost any other school in the region. The classical education mixed with Christian worldview was exactly what we were looking for. Students here bring their text books back and forth and there are no screens in school (including cell phones that must be checked in at the front desk). It’s primarily made up of families that care deeply about their kids’ learning in an environment that invited God into every classroom — instead of kicking Him out. In less than a decade, this school has grown from a couple dozen students to 300-plus thanks to the dedicated staff, teachers and involves parents. The athletics program is growing and there’s big news on the horizon about future expansion. Kids come from Charlotte, Fort Mill, Clover, York and even Columbia. PCS won’t be the best kept secret for long.

We have had children attending Providence Classical School for five years. Both of our sons have flourished through the rich and beautiful classical Christian curriculum taught by teachers who love God and love their students. The leadership of the school is committed to excellence and is open to receiving feedback, identifying areas of needed growth and working missionally to equip students to prosper spiritually, academically and emotionally. The new Simply Providence program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (which will pilot in the 2023-2024 school year) is evidence of PCS's belief that a classical Christian education can benefit ALL children. We are so grateful to have a true and authentic partnership with the administrators and teachers who we know have our children's best interest at heart.

This school is one of the best educations I could ask for my children. They all tested at last 3 grade levels above and have been thriving emotionally, spiritually and in every aspect of their life. There have been some teachers who don’t like the fact that they were held to a certain standard and are now trying to say bad things. My children have never once felt unsafe there and I myself am in the school much of the week volunteering or helping in the classrooms. I have never in my life seen a group of teachers more willing or happy to be at school that this group. Everyone truly cares about their students and have great communication if anything needs to be addressed. The classical curriculum is not for everyone but for those who are willing to put in the work, will thrive! Great school, great teachers and amazing academics

I have multiple children at this school. It lives up to its mission as a classical, Christian school. I have seen the benefits of this education over many years. I love that I know what my child will be learning K-12 because the core of the curriculum is the gold-standard in classical ed, Memoria Press. A classical education must be rooted in the study of a classical language and classical history. This school does this with excellence. Latin is the mathematics of language, and it has deepened my children’s understanding of English and trained their brains to think logically. That’s a feat in and of itself lol! Speaking of math, my twelfth grader will be well prepared for Calculus by staying the proposed course study. All of our teachers have been qualified, helpful when we’re struggling, and care about my child’s academics and character. I like the expectation that parents are partners in their child’s education. The administration genuinely cares about every family.Maybe the most positive thing is when I asked my children what they were thankful for, they all said PCS!

Excellent school with amazing academics and teachers who really care. Other plusses are a great sports program and a family atmosphere. They encourage parents to be involved and do a great job communicating with parents. Highly recommend.

They promote themselves as a rigorous, wholesome, and professional educational atmosphere. The admission process is all about how phenomenal and selective they are. They will speak extensively of only accepting strong students and wholesome families. This is quite inaccurate.Pros: -Most teachers seem to care about the students. -All students become well versed in Latin, grammar, and Ancient Greek Myths. -Nearly anyone can participate in athletics that wants to since it is a small school.Cons: Per my children: -Bullying (yelling, making fun of, & even physical hitting) & disruptive behavior by students in all grades is tolerated with no consequences & it seems to happen often. Students of staff or friends of staff are given a pass on all misbehavior and treated favorably. - Teachers leave classrooms completely unattended -Some teachers are very mean: we witnessed, from the lobby, a teacher loudly yelling at a kindergarten class for a line “not straight enough” and our kids have spoken of upper school teachers yelling at students for asking too many questions in class.-The fine arts classes are a joke and there is no time or space to actually learn any art. What we observed:-The academics are quite subpar, particularly for a private school. -Our kids are now at least a year behind in math compared to their public high school counterparts. We have heard this is common at this school and most struggle at math after attending here.-All students are expected to be in the same level classes so the teaching was often too slow or too fast. They wouldn't designate specific honors or non-honors students or classes.-The middle and high school science is abysmal, has no labs, and they only covered half the curriculum most years.-STEM education is a very significant weakness here. We have since learned that classical education does not have to be anti-technology or anti-STEM, but this school definitely is and parents should be aware.-Every writing assignment from this school was bizarre and they never taught my children how to write proper essays.Important to note:-The administration is not receptive to concerns or requests. They will listen silently, posture as receptive, and then send you on your way. Don't expect to see any changes or adjustments from conversations.

Fantastic school with a great culture. It is challenging for the kids in both learning and learning to study.

The school has appropriate goals, but inadequate means to carry them out. Their teachers are spotty. They have a few excellent teachers, but much more so than most schools it is the luck of the draw on getting one of them. The class sizes are good, but the ability of the teachers to teach leaves much to be desired.

We were with Providence for one school year. The studies were overly intense. At elementary school our child was tested daily. We did not agree with it, but the leadership did not pay attention to our concerns. We felt ignored. Our child did learn a lot but it cost us a great deal of studies after school. We were sick of never ending quizzes and tests.

This school unfortunately had quite a problem with bullying and favoritism. Some teachers were great, a few despotic. Administration was impervious to suggestions, treated bullied students like they were the problem and highly favor teachers’ kids or kids of parents who volunteer a lot. Test scores went down while attending this school.

As a high school student, I can say that I have thouroughly enjoyed attending PCS! Each and every one of the teachers here are so uplifting and encouraging! I would consider them family. Our instructors always handle issues in a godly and respectable manner, and they set an amazing example for how we should handle problems of our own. I have been attending this school since it began, and I have enjoyed taking part in its growth and development. The academics are challenging, but our teachers push us to give our absolute best. Expectations are clearly stated and we are held to that standard. The faculty genuinely care about our education and it is a blessing to have teachers that encourage us to strive to bring glory to Christ in all that we do. Students here understand the value and privilege of education and work with passion and desire to do the best work possible.

Please beware of this school and prayerfully consider before enrolling your children at this school. The school is not as rigorous as other schools in the area, putting children at risk of falling behind academically. In addition, there are terrible problems with bullying which are not addressed effectively by school administrators and teachers. Teachers and administrators show favoritism to the many teachers' kids in the school, and children are targeted for bullying. Administrators are not responsive to parent concerns. Please consider other options.
