The Principal is great, I do not appreciate the lack of respect, unprofessionalism found within the school safety Officers. They do not greet parents when they walk in, they have lots of attitude, are always on their phone, and yell at the children. They are disrespectful and short tempered when asked a question of for assistance. I cannot believe this type of behavior is allowed in the school!!!! Administration needs to re-evaluate the Officers so that they know this type of behavior is unacceptable!!! The teachers seem nice, they communicate and I love the Assistant Principals.

Amazing me and my kid didn’t want the year to end. What an amazing experience. They had an international day were all the students came with their country of origin clothing and brought a meal. We all shared as a community, like a big family. The teachers are so caring they’re really passionate about reaching. I wished this school had junior high included

In my experience as a parent who has had a child in this school in 2009 and another in 2016, I see a huge improvement. The standards of the school have improved greatly and I believe it's due to the new administration. As with everything else in life, changes need to be made in order to find what works and this administration is the change that was needed. I love everything about P.S. 239. The teachers genuinely care about the students educationally as well as emotionally. There's nothing negative to say about this school.

The new principle has made so many great changes to the school environment. The teachers are caring and dedicated to all of the students. My children feel safe and happy attending this school.

This school is more focused on the state tests than on actually educating the individual child. The biggest problem is NOT parent involvement but the lack of fundamental things like spelling words, handwriting, phonics, etc. The school is still using a method of teaching, reading and writing, that doesn't work for the kids. The principal doesn't even show warmth and genuine concern for the children. I see her when I pick up my kids and she is COLD. It seems like she is in it more for the paycheck than for really caring about the kids. The staff seems to change all too often, which usually indicates a pretty bad administration. I'll be glad when my son is out of this school in June. I would not recommend this elementary school because your child will not come out of it fully prepared for junior high school.

My daughter was at P.S. 239 from Pre-k to 5th grade and we love the school, my son is doing the same, there's lots of great teachers at 239 like: Ms Kutch, Ms Healey, Ms Isgro, Ms Hamtom, and more of them are very nice and responsible. I'm really proud of the great job they been doing with my kids.
