I am thrilled to share our experience at Nevada Sage Waldorf School, where my daughter is currently in her second year of Pre-K. This school truly embodies a unique approach to education that prioritizes the development of the whole child. One of the aspects we love most is their emphasis on learning through daily life and play. Rather than overwhelming young children with academic demands, the school nurtures their growth in a gentle, supportive environment. This method allows children to develop as human beings first, cultivating their emotional, social, and physical skills before diving into more structured learning. I truly believe this approach sets a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The teachers and staff are exceptional—kind, gentle, and incredibly loving. Their dedication to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere has made a profound difference in our daughter’s experience. I couldn't have chosen a better place for her to be while I rejoined the work world. It gives me peace of mind knowing she is cared for by such compassionate educators.Overall, we feel fortunate to be part of the Nevada Sage Waldorf School community. It’s a place where children thrive, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent seeking a nurturing and enriching environment for their little ones.

This is the most magical treasure of a school. I feel like it's Reno's best kept secret. This is the school for you if you want a slow-paced, nurturing, low-tech environment for your child to have space to explore his/her own creativity and focus. It's a real oasis in this fast-paced, overwhelming, and high-tech world. Our child is in the early childhood program and after having a less-than-good experience at a different daycare, this school felt like such an opportunity to heal from those experiences and allow our child to blossom in a safe and loving environment. I cannot recommend this school enough!

My son is studying at NSWS and is loving it! We moved from Brazil to Reno and he didn't speak English, but since then he has felt very welcomed and happy at school.

Nevada Sage Waldorf School has truly been an exceptional learning environment for my children. From the moment we enrolled, we noticed a distinct difference in their enthusiasm for learning. The school's commitment to holistic education fosters not only academic growth but also emotional and social development. The teachers at Nevada Sage are incredibly dedicated and nurturing. They create a warm and inviting atmosphere where each child feels valued and supported. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, incorporating arts, music, and outdoor activities, which keeps the children engaged and excited about their studies. My kids love how lessons are integrated with nature, allowing them to connect with the world around them.Additionally, the emphasis on creativity and critical thinking encourages my children to explore their interests and develop a lifelong love for learning. The sense of community at the school is palpable, with parents, teachers, and students collaborating to create a safe and enriching environment.Overall, Nevada Sage Waldorf School has exceeded our expectations and has been instrumental in nurturing our children's growth and happiness. All three of my children attend this school, and they love it. I appreciate the wholesome, nurturing approach to developing the whole child. The snacks are organic. The play yards are all wooden and feel nature based rather than tons of plastic, and the kids in the pre-k and kindergarten programs get about 3 hours of outdoor time a day. I wanted to homeschool, but with small intimate class sizes, this feels like I’m sending my kids to be homeschooled with their friends by someone else. I love their teachers and the other like minded parents.

Disappointing experience. It is only an associate and not fully accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and eventually, it definitely shows. They state that they do not discriminate but kindergarten teachers are unwilling to work with diverse groups of students as is evident within a few minutes of actually being in the classroom. The campus is gorgeous but the school is not dedicated to the Steiner approach of education of meeting the children where they are and helping children grow. Lots of healthy snacks and wholesome activities for busy hands so long as your child does not have any trouble transitioning to school. The teachers are unresponsive to communication and prefer expulsion to working with families and their children under the excuse of 'not having the resources to support the child'. A single class has lost 4 families within the first 3 weeks so if you do apply, good luck.
