Its a old School. There are a few good teachers but alot are arrogant and rude. I asked for help for my Student and was told everything was fine. It was not fine and now he seems to be getting punished for them not helping earlier. They are at the School its their responsibility to intervene and help students.

As a parent, I find that teachers play an integral role in being a monumental role in our kids lives. They are the conduits between parents and their kids learning. Unfortunately whether it is the teacher or the schools pushing it, certain teachers have shown that their mentality is "not my problem" shoving off key issues and responsibilities that were and seemingly always have been a teachers job, whether it is working with the parents to insure their kid is doing the work needed ( provided the parent is showing up to try too) or tackling/ being a stopgap of bullying and harassment, it shows that the level of care shown to the kids' education is bare minimum at best. Our kids see that and take advantage of it. "Oh I can get away with X for a long time because the teacher doesn't handle it" And the only times the parents or kids can really try and talk to some teachers about anything without being brushed off is the very short and sparsely populated parent teacher conferences. For kids its "talk to the counselor" then "Talk to the principal" for parents its "Check parent portal" they check and there is no updates on homework but still ses that the very same teacher says their kids are missing assignments. It honestly feels very disjointed and disingenuous, as if those teachers do not care for the kids' education nor the parents attempt to help.

Personally, I love this school. The teachers are strict but that is to be expected. They have to deal with some tough students, AND parents. They don't play favorites and do the best they can user the circumstances. If people didn't jump to conclusions, they could see through their doubt and realize this school is really good, and I speak that as a student who has previously been to other schools. Just because pine is in a tough neighborhood, doesn't mean it is a bad school.
