It's okay. Wish there was more support and the work a bit more spread out. They allow electives taken at a local school but don't substitute those courses, so my child needs to take 9 classes, instead of six, simply to engage with students outside the home and take electives she's interested in. There are definite pluses and minuses, but the frustrations have been more than the positives. Don't think we'll re-enroll next year.

The teachers are very unhelpful when it comes to asking questions about the lesson. They will always revert to telling you to recheck the material, and you will find the answers there. Obviously the material isn't making sense, which is why the students are coming to you. It's as if they don't want to do the only job they're given: explaining their course. The teachers are practically nonexistent, and most classes don't have LiveLessons required for them. The school tries to make up for it by monthly check in calls, but I feel as if it is just an extra hassle. For the most part, they are not understanding when a student falls behind. They hardly excuse assignments, even when a student would need a break for emergencies. It won't matter to them. You'll just have to hurry to catch up.

I feel through the years- communication has gotten better between myself and staff. My daughter has many health issues and they’ve worked with her. I’m happy that she’s had some great teachers through her journey.

Great school, my child is able to take honors and advanced classes to prepare him for college. They use a high-quality curriculum and the lessons are well sequenced. The assignments are meaningful. Teachers know my child because they have social opportunities to interact. My child is self motivated to do the work and extends what he is learning beyond the lessons just out of curiosity. Great school. He is having a 5-star experience. This type of program requires parents to ensure that students develop routines and study habits and are held accountable for completing work. Teachers do their part and are very responsive, provides individual assistance.

5 STARS! I would give them 20 if I could. The quality of education my daughter had in Kindergarten to the quality my oldest daughter has is WAY better than what I grew up with in my state. I dealt with bullies, unequal opportunities and not ONCE did anyone tell me what a counselor was or why you should see one. This put me behind in my journey in adult hood as I had no guidance and had to figure it out on my own. My oldest daughter was yelled at by a teacher for "not reading fast enough" and that was the final straw. I love this school and I know why so many people are turning to online schooling especially since 7 guns have already been brought to school in our school district so far this year.

I'll give it 5 stars! It's our third year attending Connections Academy on Nevada. It's been challenging, but overall, very rewarding for my family

Nevada Connection Academy is worse than any public school that is in the United States. I would not recommend this school for anyone.

Quality education, passionate and dedicated Staff at NCA. Public Schools in Las Vegas for Middle and High School have gone down hill. More attention to bullying, race, and status are taking away a proper and deserving education/environment for students. NCA is crucial in keeping a straight path to academic success.

The teachers are really nice and friendly. At least, most of them are. Most are also really helpful, but communication is sometimes not great. It can take several days for a teacher to get back to you, and sometimes their response is not that helpful or results in having to send a reply that, again, takes time to receive an answer to. The curriculum is fine; nothing great, nothing bad. Except some of the electives and information in lessons can be outdated. But overall, OK. Clubs and activities can be fun, but don't expect to be able to participate a lot if you are in high school. You'll be having to write a lot of time-consuming essays. LiveLesson sessions are great; they're probably one of the better aspects of this school. Another bonus is that I got to use a free computer. Peer interaction is a lacking, but that's pretty much to be expected with an online school. Don't expect a lot of field trips if you don't live in a big city like LA, New York, or Las Vegas. The counselors are nice and can provide some useful information, but don't expect a ton of help and/or guidance.Overall: 3 - AverageEnvironment: 5 (everyone is nice, etc.)Communication: 4 during non-busy months, 1-3 during state testing months, end of semester, etc.Curriculum: 3Clubs: 3-4Workload: 3Socialization: 1-3 depending on where you live

I had three children enrolled this year. The elementary school teacher was very involved in my sons education. She even took the time to help when she didn't have too. My middle schooler and high schooler didn't have the same experience. The main issues they had was some teachers didn't get back to my children when they had questions. My children had to figure everything out by themselves. The teacher gave short answers if they even got a message. We couldn't understand what the teachers wanted and would get short emails back but no answers. I emailed the administration about these issues and they just emails short answers. I had to call the principal and still he showed no concern and didn't solve the problem. The communication between students, teachers, administration, and parents is the main issue. I was told they would help us every step of the way and the truth is your on your own. I was grateful to have an great elementary teacher who really cared. My experience with Connections Academy was not a good one. I will be sending my children to another school.

WE are an Active Duty Officers who have experienced nothing but complications with this school. After a conference call with1) Superintendent2) Principle3) Tier 2 Customer SupportIt was determined that Connections Academy is UNABLE to meet educational needs of Active Duty Military or Gifted students resulting in immediate dis-enrollment that day.. Contact with other Parents has shown the greatest selling point of NCA is getting a free computer and a monthly stipend to pay for Internet access. Their is also the false sense of accomplishment as many parents "Help" their students get higher scores on assessments they would have gotten in a classroom taking tests without their "help".

I have enrolled 3 of my children in NV Connections Academy. When we recieved the box full of supplies and computer, my kids were very excited. 1st day of school was very hectic, trying to get everyone on schedule. Then on day 3 and 4 Connections computers went down. There was no access. When they came back up on Monday morning, all of my kids were behind. Instead of allowing them to start where they left off, my children were not stressed out about catching up. They were starting school at 8 am an finishing for the day at 5 pm. at the end of the day they were wore out and still not caught up. We are now in day 7 of Connections Academy. We have tried multiple times to get a hold of Admin, Vice Principal and Counselors, but continually get voicemails. Teachers are fairly easy to get a hold of, but upper admin and counselors are virtually impossible. They then respond with emails instead of returning phone calls. We have unenrolled our children. Connections is very disorganized, and seems to run off of teachers and staff that work out of their home and do not take education seriously. We felt like our children deserved better.

This school has changed our family's lives the curriculum is individualized and it not only challenges my son but it has given him a sense of so much pride. I love the teachers they are very helpful.

My daughter graduated from NCA, she loved it because it allowed her to work at her own pace, the teachers were very involved and were available constantly through phone, email and live lessons. I felt the teachers gave the students plenty opportunities to succeed with assignments as students could go in and redo certain assignments for better grade if the student chose to do so. Opportunities were better for us than at a brick and mortar school.

Our school is Nevada Connections Academy, we love it. The teachers are awesome and only a click or a call away if any thing should happen. I have had so much contact with teachers in Connections Academy, with public school I was lucky to speak with teacher once a year. Our children love this school, it is flexible and the curriculum is both hands on and video's the books are colorful, and the video's are great, the kids love them, a great learning tool. NCA has been a blessing for my family because it allows me the freedom to take my children with me to care for my parents, when this happens school goes with us. I do not have to check them in and out of school, Out of 5 kids we will not send the two youngest to public school, they have witnessed their older brothers be involved in locked downs and what can happen at the cost of bullies. Oh and by the way did I mention that it's Free, yes it's FREE, they send the PC and books and even send subsisted prepaid cards to help with the internet, no more high costs for school supplies folks, I tell everyone about Connections Academy, because it's the perfect school for our family, Try Connections Academy and see !!

Nevada Connections Academy is an online free public school that is an excellent alternative to traditional school. The curriculum is superior and I like that the student can work at their own pace, no rushing. As a parent I have more involvement in my child's education. The support from the teachers to the technical support is excellent. Someone is always there to help when needed. There is numerous opportunity for the children to meet at lunch bunch or field trips. My child has excelled and learned so much since starting at NCA. Students also have numerous electives and clubs and activities to join that are not available in a traditional school. Superior learning in a safe and healthy environment.

I was happy to see that the history would teach my son about presidents before popes (unlike K-12). But, after seeing the lackluster material, poor customer support, and onslaught of issues with the shoddy software. I think I would rather my kid learn about popes again... At least he was learning. I see this school possibly damaging more kids than it will help, this is sad considering how poor NV schools rank. We parents are given the choice of bottom of the barrel or being rolled over by that barrel. I am starting to think I must leave this state just so my kid can receive a basic education (not even a good one)...

NCA is a free school that my daughter attends online at home. NCA sent us a free computer, a headset with microphone, books, art kit, science kit and math kit. She has been in NCA for 4 yrs and loves it! She likes that she can go at her own pace, move ahead quickly in some subjects and take more time in others. She loves to participate in the live lessons that are Powerpoint presentations where she is able to chat with other students in a chatbox, use the microphone to answer questions and break out into separate work sessions with other students. We love that the schedule is flexible and there is enough work to do to keep her busy and challenged, and yet some of it is optional. Keeping track of attendance is super easy. Her curriculum calendar is all set up for her in a daily To Do List. Homeschool has helped her tremendously, as she is easily distracted and needs my attention to keep on task. I include Bible study as part of her school day. I'm able to see her progress daily and celebrate with her a test well done. Social interaction was a concern at first, but she has had violin class, PE in the park, ice skating, school field trips, church youth group and Girl Scouts.

It really is the most rewarding and freeing experience. You get sent top notch curriculum, a computer and all the supplies you will need. It is a state funded public school that operates virtually so there is no cost to us, therefore still getting what my tax dollars pay for! I get to be with my children everyday and guide them through their lessons. We get to set our schedule how it works for us and can even work on weekends if we want to. Your teachers are always available by email and phone for help and they give great feedback on the assignments that they grade. We get together with other students at the school for field trips, my children's favorite is the monthly ice skating! Because you work at your children's pace you can take your time to master every subject and move ahead fast, we always get our work done early second semester, instead of taking off all those random holidays like President's day etc... we do extra work and then by the end of the school year I get to give my kids an extra week of summer! You will work hard as a learning coach, but it is really worth it. I cannot express how awesome this school has been for our family and I highly recommend it.
