The new administration has made a significant improvement in the overall culture and operating structure of the school. Communication from teachers and the administration are consistent and informative. My child has demonstrated that she has learned a lot over the last year and the teachers seem to tailor the teaching style based on where each student is (the best they can). For example, my child has received more challenging curriculum for topics she excels in, while also continuing to focus on those areas where she needs work. Overall, our experience as parents has been great. I’ve learned that there is a big difference between the politics that end up on the news or social media and what’s actually happening at the schools.

School system experiences are sub par .. very disappointing..

Overall, we found our experience at Palmer River to be extremely challenging. Our daughter attended Kindergarten and first grade there. The administration at the time was difficult with whom to work. Classroom sizes were large (22+ students), parental involvement was not encouraged and the school building is rundown. First grade was a disaster; the teacher we were scheduled to have (and who was highly regarded) was injured prior to the start of the school year. We had a series of long term subs before a novice teacher was finally assigned. She was overwhelmed by the class and had difficulty managing the range of children. Our daughter hated going to school. We have since moved and are very much enjoying where we live now; it is night and day from Rehoboth.
