Roy Cloud has a great location, safe for your kids to walk to and from school. The community of families that attend Roy Cloud are supportive and welcoming to new families. No school is perfect but this is a great school if you want your kids to be in a good environment, where the administration focuses on education and less on social issues.

Two of my kids already went through all 9 years at Roy Cloud and had a great time. Transitioning to high school was very easy given the experiences and knowledge from Cloud. One of my kids is still at Roy Cloud currently and also has a great time, enjoying the same wonderful teacher base that her siblings did. Also distance learning is implemented very well. The kids have meaningful projects to do on their own and plenty of synchronous time with their teachers. I like that whatever they give the kids to do, it's with a purpose and not just busy work. The focus is on retaining knowledge and not so much on touching as many different topics. They get inspired there on what they want to learn deeper at their own time, rather than being completely exhausted not interested in doing anything more.

We bought our house so that we could walk to Roy Cloud. What an amazing decision. This school is a gem. I am so grateful for the teachers and the hardworking, enthusiastic PTO and the school leadership. Our kids love going to school, love their teachers and are happy. I really can't ask for much more. This is an extraordinary community. And it is K-8 which is so rare.

Our two children are thriving at Roy Cloud. The parent community is phenomenal and that engagement is the bedrock of the school's success. Coupled with a new administration that has focused on innovative teaching techniques and the many great teachers, Roy Cloud offers an excellent, community-based educational experience. While no schools is perfect, and RCSD has significant challenges to overcome, there is a renewed energy to the school. The PTO in particular does an excellent job of supporting engaging programs that provide opportunities for hands on learning (the Makery, Garden & Outdoor classroom, Science for Scientists, etc.) and student social-emotional learning.

I have two students at Roy Cloud. No place is perfect, but Roy Cloud is an amazing school because of the teachers, administration, staff, parents, and students. People really care about developing the students there, and as important, they care about each other. This is what a school community should be! Like any school, if you sit back and expect that everything will automatically get taken care of for you, you might have some complaints. Like life, you get out of it what you put in - and Roy Cloud is a great start for my children to understand that key lesson while being supported. Social development and being good people are stressed as much as academics. If you pay attention, partner with your child’s teacher, and spend time with your kid, they will do well here. If you make an effort with other parents, you’ll make amazing friends. Your kids will make great friends too! The school could be a bit more socioeconomically diverse, but there is some variety. There are some negative reviews here that I can’t really believe. Sounds like one is a disgruntled teacher and the other is a parent that didn’t get along with the new principal. The critique about not supporting kids with special needs or allowing outside help is just wrong. We found the total opposite, with the new principal being open and approachable and the assessment team working with us and considering our outside assessment to address our sons’ needs. We’re really happy with Roy Cloud and would recommend it to other parents.

Terrible. I taught here and was constantly bullied. My creative ideas and advocacy for English learners was met with pressure from administration and peers to remain silent and confirm to an ugly school culture of favoritism.

Roy Cloud was warm and fuzzy and now it's cold. The Principle has changed the school so much. There is simply NO room for a child that is not already fitting in a mold. A mold that has less and less room for personality. So sad.

Awful, go to a different school if possible.

I had high hopes for Roy Cloud, but have been sorely disappointed. All my efforts to help and create change we’re thwarted by politics and beauracracy. Don’t let the scores fool you.

I had to leave Roy Cloud because of a move that me and my family made. I fully enjoyed my time at Roy Cloud and truly believe that it was the greatest school I've been to (I've been to six different schools). Students at Roy Cloud are welcoming, happy, kind people, that truly care about each other. The teachers are inspiring, smart, AWESOME, teachers that make school fun and interesting to go to school every day. I have made so many friends at Roy Cloud that are some of the most amazing people in the world.

This is our first year at Roy Cloud, with boys in 1st and 7th grades. We have been thoroughly impressed with the teachers and the administration; we have found them to be highly skilled, passionate and compassionate.

This is our first year at Roy Cloud and my son and I are so happy. Truly a safe, neighborhood school with a progressive "charter school" feel. PTO is extremely organized and very effective; parents are always ready and willing to help out (cheerfully too!) The children have access to the latest technology and the teachers are superb. I sound like a cheerleader, I know, but we are very blessed to be a part of this school.

There is an endless supply of parent volunteers for projects, classroom activities, school events, and general support of the teachers to lighten their load. Parents often share their expertise to enrich the lives of all the students in the classroom and help them become more well-rounded as they move on to high school and beyond. We are a flexible, committed group always trying new things to enhance our student body character as well as the health and wellness of our students, teachers and parents through walking to school programs, physical education, and health of our entire school 'family' through group generated fitness, education, and encouragement.

Roy Cloud prepared my son well for transitioning to high school. As a freshman, he is taking all advanced placement classes including Sophomore level math. I am confident that my 5th and kindergartener will achieve a strong academic basis as well with Roy Cloud as their school.

I'm pleased to have the opportunity to have my children at Roy Cloud School. This is our 4th year enjoying the wonderful environment, great professor, the staff in general. However, what is most impressive for us it's the community (parents) always involved with every activity, always willing to participate by getti g involve at any small opportunity. This is very important for the alumnus. Parents support makes them feel more secure to achieve their goal. The school staff & parent have work hard to maintain the teaching strategies up date to the 21th century in technology to help students to thrive & success. This is my proud school !!!
