Boulder Creek is pretty basic. Nothing special compared to other public schools. My child has attended for five years, since kindergarten. I will say the kindergarten Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Tilzey are amazing. Kindergarten at Boulder Creek with these teachers is a great experience due to their teaching and communication style. My experience with all of the other teachers since then has not been the greatest. The classes are so full the teachers get overwhelmed and fed up with the students. There is hardly any one-on-one attention. My child has been bullied every year and the upper staff cares more about covering themselves than handling the problem and ultimately blamed my child. At pick up and drop off the school is a mess. You have to show up thirty minutes early to wait in line just to make sure you are on time and if you are late do to this traffic, even by just a few minutes, they will threaten to expel your child. I feel that my child and their peers at Boulder Creek are behind in their academics compared to other children at schools like Grant and St. Joseph’s. If I could afford the tuition for private school or the drive out to Grant I would not hesitate to take my child out of Boulder Creek School.

Our son has been at Boulder Creek for 4 years now, going from 3rd grade to 6th grade. We have had such an amazing experience, every single one of his teachers have been great and the school atmostphere is supportive and inclusive. The switch to middle school has been seamless for us, there is so much communication and information available for parents if they want it to help their children. What could have been really stressful was made simple by the system that is in place with all the middle school teachers. I love the layout of the school and how each section supports a different age level. Fun events are always offered and getting involved as a parent is easy when I have the time (and energy!) to. My son has really flourished here and we are grateful to be a part of Boulder Creek! Such a sweet, safe neighborhood school with great staff.

Both of my children attending Boulder Creek School from Kindergarten through the 8th grade. I am so thankful for the community and culture in this school. The staff, teachers and administrators are all very welcoming, and truly want what is best for kids. Thank you BC for all of this greatness.

Initially, I was excited to have my children attend this school. I did not realize it was going to be a full-time job inundated with calls, letters and time-consuming requests. THIS IS the worst school my children have ever attended!!! Let me give you a few examples. 1) BULLYING! I have repeatedly asked for assistance. It will never be addressed. 2) Teachers don't even know which subject they are supposed to be teaching. The students had to actually tell her. 3) I received a vm while I was at work asking me to call the school urgently. I called immediately to hear my child had fallen and developed a small rip in her pants. "Can you please bring new pants?"  Frivolous call. 4) NO allergies. Expect that they will be sent home for a 10 day mandatory quarantine every time they sniffle, sneeze or cough even if the school is aware of the allergies. 5) If your child stays home sick and you call the school please don't expect that it will be properly documented, furthermore, expect a phone call about the absence even though the school has already been notified and soon expect a truancy notice regardless if the absence is a school mandated 10-day Covid quarantine. 6) Counselors or faculty will manipulate whatever answer they want out of your child whether it is true or not = brainwashing or coercion. This a perfect example of liberal school faculty and administrators trying to take away our God-given parental rights telling us how we should be parenting. I have other children at another school on the honor roll and no problems. That's the reason why I decided to leave this review. I hope that this helps you to decide if this is the right school for your children.  If you have little robots this is a great school for your family, but if you're like me trying to foster strong independent individuals then look elsewhere.  This school only cares about their state funding.  They do not care about true teaching/learning.  Ambush tactic. They schedule "parent/teacher conferences" but when you attend there is a hoard of administrators to explain to you "that your child is under-performing and "remediation" is necessary.  What happened to just teaching ALL of the the students? Each learns at a different pace and maybe in a different way. I am done being complacent. I waited for over 2 years before posting this review to see if progress could happen.  Now I see the wait was futile.  I have spoken with many parents who have removed their children from here.

I would rate this school and staff 10/10. Ms. Tilzy is amazing! My daughter attended her Kindergarten class in 2017 and finished the year on such a strong note. Not only was my daughter able to read fluently but she also left having memorized some of her multiplication facts. I commend Ms. Tilzy for going above and beyond. I am so thankful to her as I feel she gave my daughter such a strong foundation. My daughter has excelled in every grade since. In addition to having such a wonderful teacher, my daughter was well loved by the YMCA after school staff. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to educate and care for my little one.

This is the worst school! I have 2 kids going here as other parents have mentioned its a roll of the dice the teachers are either amazing or Horrible. Then there is the administrative staff. We have been here for 5 years and they are on there 3rd principle and other various admins. Our oldest son is Autistic and we have been in various meetings trying to figure out how the school can help over the last few years. Comes to find out they should have tested him years ago so he could get proper help instead they didn't want to have to spend the money to do that. We finally asked for an IEP and what do they do? Tell use our son can't go to school there any more!

My son attended this school for preschool and kindergarten before we moved out of state. We miss Boulder Creek! Both his preschool and kindergarten teacher and their aides were awesome. The staff really cares about the kids and the parent involvement is amazing. Dale Porter runs a tight ship and always has time to discuss any issues you may have. Communication was a bit rough at first, but the Sunday night robo-calls have helped spread the word better. My son likes his new school, but we will always have a special place for Boulder Creek. I have two boys in this school - 5th and 1st grade. Overall, Boulder Creek is a good school. The principal is great and the academic standards are good. The booster club is hard to crack if you aren't a certain type of person ($ and popularity still rule) and you have to watch for the teacher/parent favoritism, which seems to be worse in the early grades (K-2). After 2nd grade, it isn't really a problem. My son's K class last year had some parents who were very close with the teacher and it was like a little club. Those few parents and their kids were the center of the teacher's attention; the rest of us had to fight for time to speak to her and had to drag details out of her. There was one mom who was in the class all the time, just hanging out, and several of the other parents who were friends of the teacher were in and out all day. My son kept talking about it so I think it had become distracting. The teacher was younger and it was like she was more concerned with what was going on after school than during. Overall, a good school in a safe neighborhood. My kids are happy and if you can get past the elitist attitude of some of the parents and teachers, you will be happy, too.

This is the worst school ever. I went here from kindergarten to 2nd grade. The "amazing principle" , Dale Porter gave me detention for going to the office to much. And my second grade teacher banned my father from the campus for telling her about children that where bullying me, and falsely claiming that he threatened her. Almost all teachers and parents here are stuck up. Honestly, a horrible school that I will always hate. -Kori Coffman- Pfennig.

This school is amazing. It has a great family atmosphere with a lot of school unity. The principal is one of the key elements that makes this school so wonderful. Mr. Dale Porter is held in very high regard by his students, teachers, and parents. He's firm with his students, but in a very caring way. There is also a lot of parent participation at this school. It feels like one big happy family when you walk down the halls. The teachers are exceptional too. They always try to find new innovative ways to learn and have fun while they're doing it. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

Love the teachers and the people. I was sad to move and leave this school.

This school is great for the first five or so years. However, I have not been happy with my daughter's experience in middle school. If your child is white, popular, and likes to bully people, then this is the school for them. If your child does not fit into this category, then he or she will be at the mercy of the a fore mentioned. Unfortunately, the staff and teachers are not sympathetic to the kids getting picked on. In fact, I've witnessed certain teachers bullying the kids as well. There are only a couple of great teachers, one for math, and one for science, oh, and the music teacher is okay, other than that, they are mediocre at best. If your child displays any type of individuality or creativity, this school will squash it.

We researched schools in the area before moving here. We had a great first year. But we ended up with one of the worst teachers I ever came across. We had to remove our daughter from the school and soon found out she was far behind in math and almost held back, despite the good reports we got for her teacher rat Boulder Creek.

I used to go to that school for 7 yrs. until I moved, and it was really great. I am in love with most of the teachers. The jr. High is really great all of the teachers are nice, If you listen to them. It is a very good school. All (3) of the principals are very nice. Mr. Porter is very kind and reasonable. I think that Mrs. Gleason is more in the junior high area. And Mr.Bose is there mondays and fridays and is like an advisor and plays with the kids. Your kids will LOVE this SCHOOL!!!

We just moved away from Boulder Creek 2 months ago and boy do we miss it!!! That school is the best. Super friendly, helpful staff. An amazingly involved Principal. We miss it soooooooo MUCH!! Please if you are looking for a school pick this one with ease. I had a 1st and 2nd grader and they loved it and so did I! My 2nd grader just got a envelope full of letters from her old class yesterday I felt like crying, we are not fans of her new school. If I could I would drive her the 3 hrs to go back to Boulder Creek!!
