There's children at this school not happy with where they have been made to live and no one takes notice of that. Children crying and scared . Maybe as a community we should do what is in the best interest of the children. I think South Dakota judicial system is broken badly.

The dean of students is a joke. She is the one who decides consequences for students but does not even investigate the situations. When i asked what my child did wrong I was told that the note from the teacher said ... Well what about the child why did they act the way they did they don't try to find these things out yet she is ready to hand out ISS so they don't have to deal with the child and the actual problem at hand. My child was not told what he did wrong or how to change it in the future just that he was going to ISS for the day. Kids cant be kids at this school I would highly suggest if you have a kid with ADHD not to go to this school or they will spend lots of time in ISS due to the teachers/staff not wanting to deal with them. if you have a choice don't choose this school. if i could rate negative I would.

I believe the school has many great teachers that provide tools for children to excel academically! I also think the multi-age program is a great option for certain children to become leaders and thrive academically.

The staff are amazing, the teachers will bend over backwards to help their students as well as the parents. They cater to all levels of learning. RV has a wonderful PTA that go out of their way to help in everyway needed. I am so glad this is the school my son gets to spend his first 6 years at, he's half way through those years and has a love for learning that grows every year.

I would like to comment on the early dismissal times. It may seem as though students are getting less classroom time, but the total weekly instructional time is the same as for other Rapid City schools. The difference is that Rapid Valley has longer school days on the other four school days, going to school earlier and dismissing later than schools that do not have early release on Wednesdays.
