The buses suck, like actually people have to stand up because there's no room, sit on the floor, or 3 into a seat but that won't work unless you have friends!? Its bus 6 that I know has the problem, too many kids im actually so tired of that

I went here for my first year of middle school and i hated it. People were constantly vaping, smoking, fighting, bullying and teachers didnt even care. People brought weapons to school and they didnt get suspended untill the next day. Teachers would quit mid year and right before eog´s so that wasnt helpful and barley any electives the ap was weird i wasnt a big fan of her its just a mess in general dont go there.

My experience at Centennial has been very negative. There’s been so many teachers quitting or just so focused on controlling behavioral issues that I don’t end up learning much. There are a ton of fights every week and our school has no way of effectively disciplining anyone because most of the students don’t have any regard for their future. I also believe that going to this school has decreased my intelligence and my mental health significantly.

This school has been horrible to go to. Ive been in this school 6-8th grade and their were fights almost everyday, horrible teachers that curse and horrible curriculum, and lack of freedom. Staff focused more on discipline than teaching and labeled kids as, “bad” and “good”. I do not recommended this dchool steer clear.

The principle at the school has the worst attitude with parents, students and God knows staff. She tries to humiliate and intimidate staff in front of parents, and I have seen this firsthand on several occasions, whether in the school or at carpool. She has no respect for her position as a principle and with teachers leaving at an alarming rate, why is she still there? Dangerous fights, stealing, nastiness and no direction with a game plan at the school.

The teachers and staff care about their students, and I am pleased with the academic development they provide. They don't load the kids with homework, which I think is very refreshing! My daughter has made great friendships, and has had limited exposure to others who seem to bully, start rumors, etc. However, these seem to stem from 1-2 students, and that the rest of the student body seems nice to each other. The PTSA does a lot for the teachers, and even without the normal activities (thanks to COVID), they seem to try to give the students enrichment. I would definitely recommend this school!

Our experience over the past three years has been inconsistent. Our child's 6th grade year was a mess. One teacher was overly strict, two teachers seemed more focused on being friends with the kids, and the fourth did not challenge students and was too easy. She changed positions at some point in the year and the new teacher finally brought in some real learning. 7th grade we had two great teachers and one who was very rude to our child. The science and math teacher really worked hard to connect with kids, but the english teacher played favorites. 8th grade has been a complete mess. Science and social studies are only every other day because there are not enough teachers. How can you advertise yourself with a STEM school sign in your entry, but only give kids science every other day? The social studies teacher is terrible. She exempts kids from work when they don't do well to inflate their grades. She plays favorites. She does not teach. My child has learned nothing in her classroom. Math started rough with a new teacher who left early in the year. Our child learned nothing from him. When a math teacher from somewhere else in the building stepped in, learning increased as well as expectations. I feel like our child is definitely prepared for Math I next year. English has been hard. Expectations are high and aren't always clearly communicated. Sometimes this teacher can be very rude to the students and shares information that should be kept private. Science has been hard because of the every other day setup. Same teacher as the end of 6th grade which made us happy. High expectations in here, but our child has liked being able to be more hands on this year than in the past. Students have to work hard to be successful, but they have learned a lot in this class this year.Principal rarely returns emails. Rude when she does. Someone said below she only cares about increasing enrollment which I agree with. Both assistant principals are rude and a waste of space. Inconsistent consequences do not help the many behavioral problems in this school. There are always fights, especially this year.

We have loved our time at CCMMS. The administration was a mess in the beginning but our new principal this year is amazing. She encourages communication and family involvement. The school is making great strides with its relationship with NC State and I have seen many more connections to that end. The school has shown great progress this year under Ms. Hutchinson and I look forward to seeing the school continue to grow.

Disappointing. No true relationships with NCSU as much as they tout they have partnerships and the proximity gives them closer access and connections. There was a huge exodus of good students and supporting families last year. Only remained because child wants to stay with a few lifelong friends and kept hoping for improvement, and well, now its almost over. Will not be bringing other children here. Maybe they can bring CCMS back to its glory days, but I took the chance with one and was starry-eyed and eager to join the fight, but now I refuse to have any more of my children bear CCMS’ remediation pains.

I'd give it a 2 out of 5. Ineffective, apathetic administration. Not good communicators. Lots of problems with disruptive, disrespectful students. So many horrible substitute teachers. The teacher absenteeism rate is unbelievably high. There is no regular interaction with NCSU or tech companies as touted in the magnet tours. There is no regular interaction with the Friday Institute as touted in the magnet tours. Not much in the way of electives. Our child has made a couple of good friends, otherwise we'd be looking at other schools.

We had a wonderful 6th grade year, caring teachers and lot's of differentiated learning and experiences. 7th grade has been abysmal. 1 Social Studies teacher who cares, but came from 6th grade last year, Mr. Millhoff. This school has the most potential and opportunity to be great yet fails their students in every way. The administration is not engaged, the NC State involvement promised is nonexistent. Good kids who study hard exit at the end of every year because of the constant verbal and physical fighting, behavioral issues, and lack of engaged teachers. Will likely be pulling my child as well, even though she has made good friends.

Revolving door of substitutes -- and sub-par ones, at that. Apathetic administration who are poor communicators. Some teachers are quite good, but the high teacher absenteeism cancels out any benefit they might offer. You can't make an impact if you're absent half the time. The school needs a stronger, involved, caring administration. It would be best if the current principal didn't return from maternity leave and if they also replaced the asst. principal. Maybe teachers wouldnt be absent so much.

We are very happy at CCMMS. The teachers are AMAZING (we are 6th grade) and truly care about the future of their students and their well being. Their energy towards teaching is very visible. The students really support each other and are happy to see each other succeed. The staff as a whole are wonderful and very welcoming.

The principal bullies the staff members and openly badmouths them in front of other faculty. When we have asked her to address our concerns about the increased fighting and growing unsafe learning environment, she has not been helpful. A great many of the experienced staff are leaving this school, myself included. I am sorry to leave a school which I have loved so much but the working conditions are untenable.
