Leadership at this school is very resistant to change. Same events are held every year - even the food is the same year in and year out. Children attend mass once a week - but the mass setting is geared to adults not children.

The class sizes are ridiculously huge and inhumane. The teachers are frustrated and mean, the principle has no intentions of helping the parents or students find a way to decrease these class sizes, when the principle is asked any questions about class size she justify and down plays every single conversation. the students are cramped inside the rooms like sardines, the lockers are small and shared. One hall holds K-8th grade My daughter was physically shoved by a frustrated teacher at this school, she stated she doesn't remember the incident. They have 36 students with one teacher ALL day, the only time the kids transition out of the prison cell is for lunch and bathroom breaks. Art is where someone rolls a cart to their room and "play". air conditioning is for front staff only, the rooms are muggy, stuffy, hot, and uncomfortable for the kids yet, front office staff have a sign to "please close door because the air is on". I was are stopped at the door on a midday visit "we don't allow parents in the halls because its disruptive to the students". Perhaps these schools should be somewhat mandated more by the state, as the after school program is understaffed as well.

I currently have one child attending St. Lucy's and has been there for 3 years now. Each year we have seen significant improvements in all areas. The teachers there truly care about the kids and have always gone the extra mile. As a patent you are expected to be highly involved in your child's education. Plus I have never seen students get along as well as these do, which can only be passed down from and expected by the staff.
