Worst school my child has ever been too! They don’t appreciate their students any more than they think they are the child’s parents. They discipline kids without being appropriate about it! I mean what’s the point in taking notes in a meeting if you’re not gonna implement them? Would not recommend this school, and won’t be back next year. We are homeschooling!

I personally think that southside is a great school!! My daughter had a great teacher in 3rd grade(Mrs. Christie Simpson). She was very easy to get along with and all the kids seem to love her. My daughter had excellent grades in her class from the begining of the school year until the end.Praying that she will get a great teacher this year!!!:)

Southside Elementary School is a great place to work. I personally feel as if we are trying to work as hard as we possibly can to help our students achieve every day. I wish that there was more parent and community involvement, but everyone has to realize that the door swings both ways. We need the support of parents to help their kids when they get home from school. We can only do so much while they are here in our care. We offer activities such as Parents' Night In, which offers fun activities and ideas of how to help students at home, but our attendance is often between 50-150 parents and students. It is my hope that one day we can all collaborate together with parents, students, and community so that everyone can be involved in working toward the same goal of giving the children of Giles County the Education they not only need, but that they deserve.
