Bad school, even worse administrators - they sued hurricane victims for unpaid tuition fees for an entire year when their child didn’t spend one day at school.

Both of my children attended PJS and my family had an excellent experience there. Neither of my children was comfortable speaking in front of a group when they arrived at PJS. The emphasis on public speaking and presentation throughout the program proved to be very valuable and set my children up to be confident students who are comfortable sharing and defending their work throughout and beyond their academic years. There were many community events during the school year, and my wife and I made some of our best friends there. I was always struck by the happy and warm environment.

Arriving at PJS this fall was a homecoming. Our eldest graduated three years ago and now we have the privilege of introducing our 3-year-old to the pre-school class. I cannot overestimate how much I have been looking forward to this fall. I knew our young son would be with incredible, caring teachers, and that he would thrive in the rich environment PJS provides. Having had an older child at PJS, I see how each exploration into numbers or letters, each trip into the forest, each chance to work with friends - correlates directly to the academic achievements that will follow. Children learn to express their thoughts and share the cumulation of their research with their classmates and school at every age. I know this practice from PJS has given our eldest not only confidence but research, writing and organizational skills most children do not learn until High School. I see the pride that my children have in their education and the joy they maintain in learning something new. It’s the best gift we can give them.

We love PJS, with its amazing faculty and staff, close-knit community, and diverse student body. Performing arts program helps kids to build up their confidence and learn to work in a team, resulting in the magical spring musical every year. With the expansion PJS will have a lot more to offer to the students, the theatre, the stem shop, etc.

It's been early in our but we are duly impressed. In an area that has so many K-12 private schools that perhaps have been around a bit longer and have "resources" we've been impressed by the quality of this private elementary school. Our child is enthusiastic about school -- learning can't happen if that's not the situation. Next, parents are involved and it's nice meeting and knowing like minded parents who chose a school to maximize their young child's learning potential. The school leadership is very communicative and they really are dedicated to nurturing a student's mind and character. It's a pleasure dropping of my child in the morning. Usually a calming song is playing. You see the teachers and specialty class teachers setting up for the school-day. Teachers greet their students enthusiastically. It's a similar feeling to entering your neighborhood bakery/florist/eatery where the owners just love providing a certain service or product to the community. The common area is large and has a nice fireplace. The library is stocked and is a place you'd want to spend hours in. The place exudes warmth! The early years/elementary school years are so important -- it's where much of your personality can form and PJS really tries to cultivate both a good learner and person. I'm just glad other parents in the area decide to make this investment on behalf of their children so that the school and it's caring teachers, staff, and philosophy do have a chance to affect children positively.

Amazing little school with strong integrated academics that are meaningful and central to children's natural inquiry. Excellent teachers and specialists with remarkable pedigree and understanding of child development. Social and emotional learning is the bedrock upon which the IB curriculum rests. Children are bright, self-directed, and motivated. No toxicity here-- just a happy place to grow, learn, and practice being a purposeful and valuable member of society. PJS is a place where everyone, big and small, is a learner.

It is a nice community for younger years. The teacher and student turn over is very high.

My child just entered Kindergarten & we absolutely love everything about the school. It was a really hard decision between going to private school vs sending him to public school as we have a great public school district with top ratings. We decided to try private as the public school only had a half day K thinking we would only send him for the first year. But after several months at the school, we have decided for us that the money was well worth it & we are keeping him there. A couple of things that might help you with deciding. We looked a lot of private schools & I thought PJS would not be as challenging to him, thinking it was more focused on arts and developing the child. Thats good and all but Im worried if I make the switch to public school he can keep up. I couldn't have been more wrong. Within the first 2 weeks he learned how to graph, tally, start reading and writing, different countries and where food came from. Its October and they already had 2 field trips. Core academics is a big focus & they get homework even in K. For a crazy tiger mom this is a dream come true & for him he is having fun. The teachers are very dedicated. I couldn't recommend this school enough.

We have been a part of the Princeton Junior School family for four years. I have two children that attend and I have nothing but wonderful experiences to share. The teachers are very nurturing at all levels and truly connect with both the students and with the parents. It is so crucial for children to build a strong academic foundation during their primary years of education. It is equally important that they cultivate a love of learning. Princeton Junior School provides both of these essential elements and in turn produces confident and prepared students who excel in all areas. The Princeton Junior School is excellent and I feel very fortunate to have found this second family for my children.

I highly recommend beginning your child's education at a school that concentrates on the younger years, and PJS does a great job in that area. Our son attended PJS from age 3 through 2nd grade, and the self-confidence and strong academic foundation he built there has helped him to stand out in his current school. I highly recommend PJS.

PJS is simply the best decision as parents we have ever made. The education is without question the best in the Princeton area. Your child will not only learn at the highest levels but more importantly they will live and breathe this knowledge through many experiences. They will live the American Revolution, Birds of Prey, The Living Cell Project, The Metropolitan Musuem of Art.... All parents always wonder where my child will go after graduation.... take a look at their website and you will see a list of the finest schools in the country where past PJS students attend. Also, as a parent of recently graduates,Ii have looked on with interest to see how their past schoolmates have done at their next school. The vast majority of these students are on the honor roll or high honors. Security, childhood, education, high values = PJS.
