I attended from 8th grade through 12th grade and graduated in 2003. I continue to value both the education and mentorship that I received while I was there. The atmosphere of the all male student body could certainly be challenging at times with regular navigation of immature personalities, while also very supportive and healthy in building life long friendships and a sense of positive male fraternity. Class sizes ranged from 15 to 20 students. At that time, the school had just begun the Clans and events led were always a highlight for the students.

High school has some good teachers, but most should not be there. Some have unrealistic expectations on the students - assigning college level material, and an outrageous amount of work that is really overwhelming and quite boring. All classes are teacher-centered and in the form of lectures (many not well planned, leaving the kids confused and frustrated). Lots of religious material incorporated in many subjects making it difficult for kids to stay motivated. Some teachers have an awful grading policy. One teacher only gives one test in the whole quarter - which is the only grade for the quarter - and he gets away with it!!The school lacks policies for teachers. They can do whatever they want. It is very difficult for kids to excel in these conditions. Some kids are nice, others are nasty bullies. One teacher is a big bully as well. He even calls the kids "dumbos". Teachers and administration do nothing about it because they believe kids need to be exposed to these things so they "learn to be tough". School has awful wifi issues. Kids online get disconnected a lot. School also chose the outdated, unfriendly "Schoology" organizational platform this year which has made things worse for the kids. Many kids get into bad habits like cheating and lying because they are desperate for help - no matter how hard they work, they only get bad grades.

My son entered The Heights at Eighth Grade. We had just returned from a posting overseas, so he was excited about attending and meeting more boys his age. We were excited too. But any positive feelings about The Heights evaporated when he matriculated to the upper school. He was bullied physically and verbally by the other boys. Teachers berated him all in the name of "toughening up." When I approached the administration, the reaction was "well, boys will be boys."My son continues to attend therapy and blames me for keeping him under those conditions. Placing my son at The Heights destroyed the critical parent/child trust. Placing my son at the Heights robbed him of his self image and joy while the administration stood idly by.

The Heights is a gem. I believe there is no better place to form a young man.

In the 13 months that we have been part of the Heights family, I've seen my son mature, grow in faith, study with motivation and develop friendships with great kids. The Heights families and faculty are welcoming and we felt part of the community since the beginning. Heights is the type of school where I would have liked to study.

Massive cheating, bullying, entitlement, and hypocrisy throughout, particularly the high school. Willful ignorance by the administration.

The faculty and administration is the best part of The Heights. Not only are the teachers highly qualified in their individual disciplines, they are men of integrity and wonderful examples to our sons. When I drop my son off at school each day, I have complete trust that he is in the best hands possible. The Heights is a true treasure!!

This school will be a game changer in your son's life! The Heights school is the total package that offers all the necessary tools for your son to be successful in life. The rigorus academic curriculum is taught by a male faculty whose primary job is to mentor your sons in their academic, spiritual and personal life. Their character is in constant formation. The environment at the Heights also reflects the unique learning nature of boys. The lower school is housed in fantastic log cabins, the boys have three recesses per day and start their day with PE. The woods on the campus provide fantastic climbing, fort building and exploration opportunities. The partnership between the Heights faculty and parents is exemplerary. The Heights faculty and staff are a wonderful resource to parents as we strive to raise young gentlemen in today's world. Worth every penny of tuition!
