Have loved this school and community! Very devoted, caring teachers. Excellent mission to care and serve others- which shows in how engaged the school and students are in the local community. Fun, friendly, and supportive families. Open, accepting, and loving environment. Feel very lucky to be a part of St. Ignatius and send my children here!

This school is a gem in Southeast Portland. The students thrive academically, socially, and intellectually. It's also an open and caring community. Last week, the kids enjoyed a hilarious community dance event on Flipgrip. There was a smile on everybody's face! There is no better place to entrust one’s child, especially during these strange and difficult times.

My 12 year old son is wrapping up his second year at this wonderful school. He transferred from a public school at the start of 5th grade. He was warmly welcomed by students, teachers and administrators. The academic work is more challenging, but the teachers are very supportive. Behavioral expectations are high. Developing compassion and respectful attitudes are priorities. We have been so impressed that we are transferring our 10 year old daughter to SI for the 2020-21 school year. We love it!

We love this school. Coming from a small alternative arts school, and not participants in the parish community, we were not sure if it would be a good fit. It has far exceeded our hopes. It feels like a family and the learning standards are high and consistent. Kindness and compassion are at the core of all learning.

We have been so impressed with St. Ignatius. with the quality of learning, the acceptance for all, and the love and compassion shared by everyone. This community does a great job of teaching the kids to have respect for others and the broader world community teaching social justice. St. Ignatius families and teachers are welcoming to all families. The community is kind and caring. Through this time of distance learning I have seen how impressive the academics are. This is a very special place!

We have been part of this school community for 9 years. We have never doubted our choice to send our kids here. The community is kind and caring. All the kids preschool through 8th grade interact and look out for each other. Through this distance learning I have realized how impressive the academics really are. This is a Jesuit community. They are forward thinking and welcoming to all families. They practice and teach social justice. It truly is a special place!

My 4th grader has been at St. Ignatius since he was in PreK. Our bright and creative boy has found a great place to develop his talents and grow as a kind caring person. He tests up to 6th grade Math and 7th grade Reading. He loves his teachers, CYO sports, the music program, and the service projects that involve the students in helping the community. With the Jesuit focus on challenging academics and social justice, he is growing up to learn how to develop his gifts and use them to make the world a better place.

A history of being a great a school and even a better community of people that has found room to become even better in the last couple of years, such that some classes are nearly full. Highly recommend that you come take a look as you explore school opportunities for you and your children and see if St. Ignatius is a match for your values and education ideals.

Very happy with our experience at St. Ignatius. High quality teachers including reading, music and PE. Families are very engaged and supportive. School encourages involvement with the community.

It's been amazing! My child went from coming home everyday upset at the public school she was attending because of bullies, being cussed at and being picked on...and that was only 1st grade and now she never wants to leave school!

My wife and I have 5th and 2nd grade boys at St. Ignatius, and we (and they) love it. We aren't overly catholic and chose the school more for its quality than its religious affiliation. Though we do like that it is affiliated with the Jesuits (who are the education wing of the catholic church and - IMO - the most intellectual of the catholic sects). The teachers and education are top-notch, the class sizes are small ensuring lots of one-on-one interactions and the sense of community is amazing. I can honestly say that we are happy with all aspects of their experience, including the purely academic aspects (reading, Math, Science, etc.), the enrichments (PE and Music are standard parts of the curriculum), and the extra-curriculars (choir, music, battle of the books, sports, etc). It is comforting to know that our kids are in a place where an entire community of people are looking out for them and helping to guide them on their educational journey.

We have been a St Ignatius family for over 14 years (two kids, five years apart). I feel the teachers are engaged, hard working, creative and dedicated. We didn't really understand or appreciate the full scope of the program until our son entered Central Catholic incredibly prepared and ready to take on the world. Thank you St Ignatius!!

We've been at St. Ignatius for 10 years, and it's been a great school for both of my kids. St. Ignatius prepared my daughter very well to attend St. Mary's Academy. St. Ignatius is a small school with class sizes generally under 25. I love the service program at our school; each grade has a different service project for the year, which include volunteering monthly at the Oregon Food Bank, Providence Child Center, and visiting seniors just to name a few. My kids love the sports program, which includes volleyball, basketball, swimming & track. St. Ignatius has been a good school for my family!

We've been at this school for 3 years and we love it! Because it's a Jesuit school, social justice is a key part of each child's learning experience. The academics are rigorous but there is a real concern with educating the "whole child," including the spiritual, physical, and socioemotional spheres. Kids have activities in their "family groups" (composed of 1 child from each of Pre-K to 8th grade) about once/month, which supports cross-age interactions and a really strong sense of school-wide community. Our son is excited to go to school every single day. He is passionate about learning and feels supported by his peers and teachers every step of the way!
