Yost offers so much for its students. There are clubs galore- bowling, girls on the run, soccer, robotics, Lego club, student council, etc. The teachers are beyond dedicated and have a love for teaching that’s unmatched. The school seems to be getting better and better every year. They also have a brand new building which is incredible! I have taught here for over 8 years and can’t see myself ever going anywhere else!

My daughter has had an excellent experience attending Yost Elementary from 1st through now 3rd grade this year…even through these COVID years. So many positives! She gets to learn with iPad apps, paper worksheets, projects, group work (which she loves) +. With both parents working, the extra activities available at Yost make it so much easier to participate. 3rd and 4th grades seem to be the years - she is doing soccer club, robotics club, and girls on the run and plans to add in basketball club next year:).Communication is above and beyond with P/T conferences, ClassDojo texting and extra meetings available if requested. We haven’t needed the extra - from our experience, the teachers manage their classrooms very well and every message I’ve sent has been answered timely. Most of all, my daughter is learning so much, making friends, and WANTS to get up and go to school every day! Highly recommended!!

Constant problems, overcrowded classes, my sons 3rd grade class was 30 kids! Too much negativity in the learning environment instead of positive reinforcement and rewards. My son dreaded going to school.

Such a great school! I have had one child attend Yost for 2nd through 4th grade, and I have two children attending currently. All of the teachers have been caring and very responsive to questions and concerns. My children have all been challenged to do their best and excel. My eldest was very well-prepared to move on to the intermediate school for 5th grade. The principal is very visible and involved with all the students. The PTO is active and sponsors several activities throughout the year. I agree with the previous poster that Yost mirrors the close-knit Duneland community in which it is located. I would definitely recommend this school.
