I went to lenox from first grade to fifth grade and let me tell you… the lunch aids would yell at us for talking like regular kids and the special teachers are very rude. One time the Spanish teacher screamed in a kids face for making noises (the kid couldn’t control it) if you get caught talking at lunch you need to go stand by the stage in front of everyone. Overall, I wouldn’t send your kids here.

I was actually here so listen before you start telling your kid the lunch aids are not bad. The lunch aids yell at us like crazy and only act nice if our parents are with us. Alot of the teachers are really nice. There is some bullying in this school from lunch aids and students and som.e of the specials teachers are so rude to the students and my main problem is the lunch staff. In my opion the school counsler was the nicest and cared for our feelings. The homework in some classes are crazy we had to use a full formula for reading homework in my class.

Lenox Elementary is such a great school!! The teachers and staff truly care about the kids and it shows. I’m so glad our kids go to this school with these wonderful teachers. We have two kids and they are both so comfortable and love their school.

As a teacher in another district and a parent, I feel my children are getting a wonderful education at Lenox School. Their teachers go above and beyond in so many ways.

I attended school here. The teachers flat out do not care. They will allow bullying even if they witness it first-hand, they will even bully students themselves. I was in a special eds class and teachers were very rude to me. One threatened to throw me out a window if I did not stop tapping my feet against a chair. They do not care about a student's well-being for they have tried to keep special ed students in the school when they clearly needed a better education. They intimidate and harass parents who do not agree with their advisories. Very inadequate, especially when coming to special needs students.

Both my kids attended Lenox, and overall, it was good. Mostly good and caring teachers. Good academic programs and very good extracurricular activities, such as field trips, holiday celebrations, music programs and famliy/student events.

I too am very disappointed with the bare minimum services that are provided by the special service team for the district for children with special needs. According to the law (IDEA) Pompton Lakes School District is not providing free and appropriate placement for children on the spectrum (ASD) such as PDD and Aspergers. This has to change, we sit in the iep meetings only to hear everytime your child is not severe enough for the program we offer but they do not offer info that there are other programs in or out of the district that is appropriate. Many of these children can not or is not ready for typical preschools, as they have behavioral and social issues and need constant redirection. Preschools do not have the staff that are trained to work with special needs kids.
