Excellent school, there are a lot of options for college classes on-campus, the work ethic can be a bit rough at times but the teachers are really good at accommodating for every student. All of the students are friendly towards each other; there's never fights. And the project-based learning makes our work less dull. But the school lunch still sucks lol. Absolutely recommend though.

The first year from 2015-2016 was very good. 2016-2017 was bad. 2017-2018 was ok. 2018-2019 was terrible. The people that I know currently going there are going through hell right now. Don't send your children here.

Overall not too great at all as there are many problems with the school from the management to how the people themselves come out of the school.

International Polytechnic (IPoly) High School has continued to provide excellent education to the diverse Southern California community since it opened its doors in 1993. IPoly is a tuition-free specialized public school located at Cal Poly Pomona and operated by Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE). The curriculum is college preparatory, meeting the UC, A-G requirements required for University admission. The curriculum centers on the innovative Project-Based Learning (PBL) model. Through PBL, IPoly students apply what they are learning in class to globally relevant semester-long projects. Students are taught to see through an international perspective through the projects (hence the name ‘International Polytechnic’). Within project teams, students get hands-on experience developing real-life skills such as time management, interpersonal communication, accountability, conflict resolution and public speaking. IPoly also offers early, concurrent college enrollment to students in 11th and 12th grade at the cost of only $10 per semester. Nearly 90% of eligible juniors and seniors take college classes while in high school, earning transferable general education college credit. 100% of IPoly seniors graduate and 98% go to college immediately after graduation. IPoly is a very practical, creative school that helps its students reach the goal of college acceptance, while enjoying the high school's small family-like environment, academic challenge and extracurricular activities. The total school population averages 500-550 students, representing over 40 cities from the Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.IPoly is open to students from all cities and Districts. Students must apply and pass an entrance exam to attend. Depending on the time of year and grade level of the applicant, students that pass the entrance exam are either accepted through a lottery drawing, or on a first come, first served basis. Admission applications are available online at www.ipolyhighschool.org. Further information may be obtained by calling IPoly Admissions at 909-839-2331.

This school does not properly prepare students for STEM courses at the college level. They do not offer the required math classes needed to apply for UC and private colleges. Having sat through several UC and Private University orientations, it is crystal clear that IPoly is not preparing their students to attend these schools. The math being taught here is so far behind what the entrance requirements are to these universities. Their integrated math program is a joke, especially when they are in the 12th grade and doing middle school math. This is happening right now this semester, unbelievable! The second problem is their non-traditional grading system, which is also a problem for universities. During this past summer, IPoly did switch to a traditional grading system but did not accurately know how to transfer the students grades over, many received lower than expected grades. At the orientation to attend this school, IPoly promoted the fact that they offer a more rigorous curriculum and therefore equal to AP classes taught at traditional schools, and that the grading system is at a much higher level. They stated that receiving an “A” at IPoly is actually considered an A+ at other schools, and those colleges and universities know this…NOT TRUE! These universities do not know how to interpret the grading system. I personally have spoken with the university representatives regarding the grading system and integrated math being taught. The consensus is that my child has to take other math classes outside of this high school at a community college just so they can meet the requirements to applyThis school promotes way more than what they deliver in the end. Proof is in the pudding, recruitment is one thing, and actually attending and witnessing it firsthand is another. I wish, I never would have come across this school and it’s false promotions. I should have taken my child out of this school after the first year. Four years too late, I only write this review now as a warning to others, don’t make the same mistake. Don’t get dazzled by all the false promises.

Please, prospective parents and students; heed my warning. As a student who has recently graduated from Ipoly, I can tell you, applying to Ipoly will be the worst decision you will ever make for your near future. If you expect your child to go to a UCLA, Berkeley or Stanford, I can assure you, they will not. The academic rigor imposed at this excuse for a high school is akin to the rigor of an eighth grade classroom. There are no APs, IBs, Honors, or sports programs- which colleges exclusively look for. Some days we did absolutely nothing, other than watch a movie, and have a teacher talk about their day while they surfed Facebook. While they offer classes at Cal Poly Pomona, rest assured your child will have to settle for the lowest classes College freshman do not want. They will be forced to take "religions of the world" or "intro to acting" .On top of this, there is no comrade. Trust me, everyone hates each other -it is not a family, it is not a unique group- it is about 100 teenagers who clump into mini cliques and hate each other. The teachers either don't see it or don't want to see it, but most of the kids hate the school aswell. I wish I could write more about this God awful excuse for a school, how I wish I could. But there is no point. In the end, you either heed my warning or end up wasting the best times of your life. Please, parents! Look beyond Ipoly!

Our son recently finished his freshman year. Excellent teachers. Interestings projects that integrate learning across disciplines. He had other choices. After experiencing Infotainment in the spring we knew we made a sound decision.

My daughter is a senior this year. Her experience has been one of growth not only educationally but personally as well. This is a very good school which takes children and turns them into young adults. It teaches them to become responsible, contributing members of society. It prepares them very well for college. The teachers and administrators are all very respectful and responsive to both the parents and the students. I highly recommend this school as it will prepare you child not just for college, but for life in general. BTW my daughter and her friends have never had any problems with college students bothering them. College students don't wander onto the i-Poly campus, but i-Poly students are allowed to use the college facilities. If you have a concern about your child mixing with college students tell them to stay on the i-Poly campus.

Ipoly is a very good school. I encourage that if any student has concerns the leadership team will be sensitve and respectful to students.

Like the author of the previous review, I graduated from iPoly this year, took college classes, and noticed a dramatic improvement in myself in many areas. What iPoly really helped me do was become more of a social being, a community member. I can hold conversations with a variety of personalities now and can deal with my fear of the novel much more effectively than before. I thank the numerous group projects, talking to professors to get into classes at Cal Poly (math classes filled up quickly so I had to act accordingly), and the overall atmosphere at iPoly for this. We are a family. I discovered hardship, friendship, and myself at this school and am a better person for it. They accepted me and all my quirks and I've, thus, learned to accept myself. That's a gift I feel no other school could have given me. I love you, iPoly, and I'll see you around.

I just graduated from iPoly, and the school really changed my life. In the four years that I was at iPoly, my communication and time management dramatically improved. I learned how to overcome my shyness, and gained confidence through all the presentations and group work we had. Teachers were very supportive, and you could tell they really loved helping the students. I was able to take college classes the last two years and had a great experience.. I really feel ready for college. Last but not least, I am proud to say that I was accepted to 5 of the 6 colleges I applied to!! I feel that iPoly gave me the confidence I needed to succeed in college and in my future.. Thank you iPoly!!

As we participated our child's graduation this June,we felt so proud of our kid and also appreciated a lot for I-poly. This school trains students with different thinking and learning process which makes students comprehend the knowledge by many presentations. Through the process, students know to present themselves with logic thinking. Another important benefit to study at I-poly which student has chance to take the course from Cal-poly, Pomona. This benefit helps our kid is admitted by UC Berkeley.

I love iPoly!!! The teachers are great and people here are sooo friendly! Even though I still keep in touch with my old friends from middle school who go to other high schools, I can honestly say I have made friends at iPoly that I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. We're like a big family! I love all the project work, and the high expectations the teachers have of us. They want us to show extra effort and creativity in all of our work and "think out of the box." Lately, I've really started focusing on getting into my dream college and know I will be prepared. I'm really excited about my future, and glad I chose iPoly to help prepare me for a successful one!

I heard about iPoly High School from a friend. What else can I say except it is a wonderful school! I visited the campus earlier in the year, and attended an orientation. The students that presented were polished and confident. I am so pleased with the reputation of this school- the small size, its high ratings, use of technology, and that it is a distinguished school. The school does not permit misbehaviour of its students- I wish I had heard about it when my eldest child was in high school. Fortunately my youngest son has already passed his entrance exam, and applied early enough to get in for the fall. Highly recommended!

My child is a current freshman. The school gives alot of responsibility to the student. At which has confirmed my teachings, you reap what you sew. The teachers have succeeded with keeping my child attentive to education. With the daily challenges of new assignments or homework, my child keeps busy. If your child can be trusted with freedom and liberty, then i would recommend this school for your family. But never force your child, guide your child. If your child doesnt want to be there, then listen. Otherwise, it will be a mutual regret.
