During the time my daughter was attending the school she faced an excess amount of bullying and the staff and teachers didn’t discipline the students for their bad behavior. One incident at the school included my daughter being punched in the face by another classmate, the student was not sent home, my daughter was not taken to the nurse’s office, they didn’t call me to tell me about the incident, and sent my daughter to class with her bruised eye. The worst part is the school had said my daughter had started the fight and was very aggressive to the other student. However an aid watching this occur saw this and wrote it in her notes of what actually happened. My daughter has autism and the school wasn’t welcoming at all to her. She struggled with her academics which lead to other students making fun of her for being “dumb” including the other teachers. Her teachers would let students insult her and whenever my daughter would get frustrated about the comments and try speaking up or lashing out at the student, the teachers would call home and accuse her of being violent even though the teachers would let the problem be created. I contacted the teachers to find out the issue going on and while doing so she texted me harmful words and messages and I always took screenshots of them since she would delete them after sending them to me. Other Staff was also incredibly rude towards me and my daughter including the principal who was incredibly rude in our meetings. Because of these incidents I had to switch schools so she can be in a better and healthier environment and ever since the change she has been getting up top of her class and is soaring in her academics. Overall, this school does not support children with disabilities and having a healthy environment.

My son is in kindergarten and a absolutely loves going to school ! He loves his teachers and all the staff. All of them are just so wonderful and involved. He did not get to go to pre-k due to covid so I worried he would have hard time with such a big change. Nope ! His teachers were so patient with him and everyone is so friendly he felt safe. His favorite day is Wednesday because it's ice cream day!!! I am looking forward to seeing him grow in such a great school.

Amazing teachers and staff. Don't be fooled by the test scores, this is a great school with teachers who love and care for their students. I also love the parent involvement. You always see parents on campus volunteering. I love this school.

Greathe school, great community, great students! The test scores don't tell the whole story, you have to visit the school yourself to see all the exciting things happening and talk to families around the school.

My daughter has attended Decker for the last 3 years. Every one of her teacher's has been fantastic. She has ADHD so at times she can be a handful, yet she has found teachers that work with her and treat her fantastic!

The students are just nice kids, the parents are involved and helpful, and the teachers really care about the students. One of the best schools in Pomona.

Good parentsin this school. But not that good principle when it comes to safety for a child in recess time. And proctors need to not force a child to eat in lunch time. My daughter tells me they make her finish the unhealthy food.

The teachers, the staff are Great!!! The one is not, is the Principal,Mrs.Vaughn.from several experiences, If any issue should come up her response is to just take it up to the district. She doesn't give a compassionate response. So you don't feel any support from her. We need a new principal or have Mr.Rodarte replace her.

My child is on her 3rd year attending Decker and really enjoys going to school. I feel that each teacher she has had really goes out of there way. I give all the parent volunteers a high five. The children enjoy all the EXTRAS. Re: parties, ice cream, book fair & movie night) Thanks again Parents & Teachers!!!!!!!!!

We came to Decker from Walnut School District about a year ago as a result of their budget cut. My three kids are in 2nd, 3rd and 5th. I fell in love with this school fist time I called in to inquire on enrollment deadlines. Eileen and Natalie are very courteous patient and knowledgeable, unlike staff at Walnut. My son is GATE at Walnut but all he received are extra homework and tests. Kids became test machines set to break CST records. Extensive budge cut with our old school results in furlough days. Teachers simply can't finish their curriculum on time. We are so happy here at Decker. My kids love their teachers and Mrs. Vaughan. She is a young principal with lots of visions for the kids. All 3 teachers I personally know are motivating. Education can be fun if you do it right. Decker is a do-it-right place!

My son attends this elementary school and loves it! he rides the bus and is in special Ed. His teacher is awesome and really cares for my pre-schooler. The school's campus is always neat and clean established in a nice decent neighborhood, and the secretaries are always kind. I recomend this school!
