the people at the front office are all terrible I think they are targeting one of my friends cause they keep harassing him for no good reason, most the teachers seem depressed and overworked its sad cause most of them are cool and there’s a fight like every other day the school sucks but it is kinda fun watching the fights and being able to get away with more stuff cause the office doesn’t really seem to care. Overall it’s not a good learning place or welcoming environment but can be fun.

Kids at this school offten give up beacuse of the staff

There is a clear difference in which the "popular" kids are treated vs normal or hard working kids. The incentive is to be loud and brash and be disrespectful to other kids. Then you are "popular". There are fights going on almost every month. The administration and principal are weak. There has been no science teacher for a while in some grades. There is no focus on education - for example there is no computer related education. Would not advice this school to anyone.

Administration seem fearful of problem students. Principal is disconnected. Fights, racism, homophobic slurs, vaping are ongoing issues. Principal seems more concerned about hiding issues than preventing them. Violent behavior is not dealt with by addressing students or parents, generally an on campus suspension is given so that the school doesn’t lose money for lack of attendance, thus the violent and dangerous student behavior is perpetual. Leadership/privileged students are favored by staff unfairly, further perpetuating and encouraging a class system amongst the student body. Students are reprimanded for using their phones at lunch/free time while principal stands in public scrolling on his own phone. Newer teachers lack life experience and are not adequately supportive with positive reinforcement of this age group. Overall an unsafe environment for students, physically and mentally.

honestly the schools ok, there’s a decent advance math program. all the kids are divided into 5 groups the populars, the rebels, the sporty kids, the “middle class” and the nerds. there were a lot of fights in the beginning of the school year not that much now (beginning of April) the admin is nice. This school is big,the people are ok I have nothing AGAINST people who are richer but there are a lot of kids that like to brag about their house values, their cars and their house size which is no the best for 11-14 year olds.

Pms is an overall-okay school. The kids are mostly separated into groups: Sporty Kids, Popular Kids, and Smart Kids. It's hard for new students because the social groups are very tight and not very welcoming, I know from experience. Phones are not allowed out during school time, but half the class has them out anyway during passing period, and class time. There are only 3-4 counselors for over 1000 kids, so most kids are overlooked or only met with a few times a year. The teachers are okay. There are those really great ones and the ones that nobody wants. In PE the children run the mile a few times a week and kids who dislike running or are poor at it are overlooked. They say that take care of bullying, but they really don't. From experience, there are fights going on every lunchtime and during PE. Kids bully left and right but less than half the kids get help from teachers. Most kids dread seventh grade because PMS separates 7th grade into 2 lunch periods so your child could end up eating by themselves the whole year without their friends. PMS is not a very good school and id recommend looking at other schools.

This school has a very bad environment. Hispanic students get less attention and white privilege is obvious in this school. Some of the teachers are decent; others are bad. Cliques are obvious here. Do not send your kids to this school; they would fare better in another Pleasanton school

I agree with most of the comments on this school. "Academically, many teachers lack the skills they need to help out the students and in fact many are reluctant to giving help when a student asks." This was a proven fact with my son, the vice principals said they would help and even talk to the teachers about giving him homework missing. The teachers said they would give him full credit and give him extra time to turn in work. This was even written on his IEP and they never helped him. "Instead, they were all very biased towards the "other student" when conflicts arose." This also is a fact that happens more often than not. This reason is that most of the students' parents are very "cliquey" and so are the teachers with these parents. I recommend not bringing your child to this school.

The teachers and students are so nice! When you're a new student, they have this AMAZING THING called, "Shadowing." Shadowing is when a student is showing a tour of the school and keeps them company for the very first day!!! My other middle school was completely, horribly, different

I would have to say that this middle school isn't really the best. Academically, many teachers lack the skills they need to help out the students and in fact many are reluctant to giving help when a student asks.More importantly, the administration isn't at all supportive of students in need/disabilities. As a student with a disability, my counselor nor any of the administrators helped me when I asked. Instead, they were all very biased towards the "other student" when conflicts arose. I have also witnessed this with a few other students who had disabilities or just seemed to struggle more in school.

My daughter loves her laptop program. (she is happy with her Chrome notebook, Mac's are exorbitant & used by most kids to "conform").Science instruction classes are the best. Math teaching could be more accommodating. Music / band is top notch.

I was a student a Pleasanton Middle School for 1 year, my 6th grade year. I was in the laptop program and I can safely say that now I am still 1 year behind in science. They barely had any supervision over computer games, so much so that my friends and I were able to play Minecraft for almost all of our laptop classes. I almost got kicked in the chest during passing period and the principal I talked to basically said that he couldn't do anything about it besides put more supervision in the area. On the bright side, I had a great year in math (course 1) in the "flipped" classroom and I can say that I am positive that Math is the best thing.

For all my 3 years at Pleasanton Middle School, I am glad to say I am finally getting out of here. The teachers for the most part are mediocre especially all the math teachers I had the misfortune to have. The lunches that are served are often very soggy and greasy and for the most part, unhealthy. I didn't struggle with grades even with poor teachers, because I understand the materials (mostly thanks to the textbooks and Internet) but for someone who struggles, the teachers are not at all willing to help out. The counselors and secretaries are moody and I tried to change something in my schedule and I was received with a resounding groan each time. Unless parents are involved, the activities are unorganized and poorly managed. I took Spanish 1 and I was lucky enough to have a good teacher but I know that all my other friends who had the other teacher did not learn any Spanish because the teacher was too busy with her other classes. The years of middle school are messy and very unorganized in this particular school.

Good teachers and stuff, but the yard duty people at lunch, especially the dude, all have their own "cliques" that they let getaway with everything. For example, when I go to stand in the lunch line, a HUGE group of guys cuts the line and the dude yard duty doesn't even care! He just talks to them about sports and lets them do whatever including pushing the people around them! Not to mention when the guys were making rude remarks to me, he just laughed! Honestly, I wish you would fire that guy or something because he doesn't do his job! I have to go into the counseling office every week because of the damage those guys have left when he was looking. Please either train them on how to be helpful when another person is being bullied or don't have them at all.
