All staff members in this school are 100% resistant to any form of consistent communication with parents. The special education department is a joke, and they regularly admit to being out of compliance with IEP’s. I frequently hear horror stories about bullying from fellow parents. Some of the teachers are more worried about mindless compliance than education. 6th graders are expected to participate in activities with 12th graders, and they are held to the exact same expectations regardless of whether these expectations are developmentally appropriate or not.

The principal is very unprofessional. Teachers have their favorites and support bullying. We had to pull our kids because of constant bullying and harassment from kids, teachers and the bus company. The education level is the lowest in the state. Other towns don't want to work with this school. The school board is not open and very secretive. Not recommended at all.

We moved to town 3 years ago and pulled him out of school after the first year because of bullying and their lack of education.

Awful. My son has disabilities and every time there was an issue they'd call us to pick him up. No effective support for children with disabilities. Their special education program is a joke. Moved after 1 year because I couldn't keep my son in this school.

Our children went through the high school. They earned numerous scholarships and completed college degree programs. All are successful in their chosen fields in the job place.

We had 3 students in this school system and though the school is making marked improvements in teaching staff, and gradual improvements in curriculumn alignment, the process has been too slow to benefit most students. Four Blocks: The elementary school utilizes 4 Blocks which largely neglected teaching of phonetics, basic grammar, syntax, and spelling. EDM:The elementary school utilizes Everyday Math which neglected to teach students regular long division (where you end up with a decimal) or handle decimals without converting them to fractions. The EDM method did not teach how to divide a smaller number by a larger one, i.e. 37 divided by 99. Most EDM methods are so non-traditional that parents need the reference manual to teach themselves how to help their student. Our students did o.k. but only because we made sure the limited class choices at the high school level were supplimented with online VHS and/or VLACS classes. Limited extra-curricular activities other than basic sports and student government. There is no active band or chorus at the middle/high level.
