We moved to Strafford because the school district was so highly rated at that time. Little did we know that the installation of a new superintendent and a new principal that same summer would be the downfall of the school. Staff were leaving in droves, teachers left or retired earlier than expected, and students from "old, established" families were given license to verbally and physically attack newer students right in the hallways of the school. School administration was abysmal at responding to parents' concerns. And because they allowed most of the best teachers to just leave, students' academic progress sank like a stone. There are a new principal and superintendent in place now, hopefully they can repair the damage that was done. But at present, the only saving graces of this this school district are the few excellent teachers who remained amid the wreckage of the previous administration, and the prospect of eventually sending students to Coe Brown.

Terrible absolutely terrible! Kids are mean, parents defend, school favors certain last names.

I have 4 children that have attended Strafford School and we have been very happy with three of them now in college. We moved specifically to the area for its beauty and for the schooling. The town has many teachers living in the area because they want to send their kids to Strafford School! With our youngest almost ready for high school we have seen renewed energy with greater improvements over the last few years. With three classes per grade there are distinct levels of achievement that challenge even the most talented. Our children have all been very well prepared for Coe Brown another excellent school.

This school use to be superior. Due to NCLB and it's grants to schools that cater more to Special Education, this school has dropped in testing scores and has removed it's gifted programs.

Moved to this town so our kids could attend this school. We have a child utilizing IEP and the school has absolutely gone above and beyond!

we love Strafford School and the wonderful teachers and staff. We moved to this town for this school system and have not been let down! We have a child on an IEP and could not be happier with the care and understanding we have been shown towards his needs!
