This school is great. This is coming from someone who has seen and been on many of the things the school can offer, such as theatrical productions, the football team, the track team, etc. I would say that the academics are good. Most of my classes are very advanced and I learn everything I need to know. The only thing I can't speak for is the lower level classes. I am also in the vocational program. Although it uses lots of older equipment, one can expect the already good vocational programs to excel when the new school is built. Taconic is a vocational school, and there will be new shops (And most likely new equipment in them) when the new school is built, along with many other benefits. Many of the negative comments are from 2007, with the newest being from 2013; they are outdated, from times when there were different students and staff members. The students who pay attention in class almost always succeed, even if it requires lots of help from the teacher. The kids here who get bad grades normally just don't care about doing well.Basically, if you want to do well here, you probably will. If your goal is just to survive high school, you probably will. However, if you try, you can and hopefully will excel here, and you probably will have fun doing it. You should take advantage of the many extracurricular activities, and enjoy every moment of them. All of the extra things I was skeptical about turned out to be really fun and thoroughly satisfying. This school deserves a much higher rating than it has. Right now as I write this, the school has a 3 out of 10 rating, but I think it should have at least a 6 or 6.5 out of ten, and at most an 8 or 8.5. Maybe I am just lucky, maybe I have a better time than the average person here, but with everything considered, I can gladly say that it really is a good school. Go Braves!!!

Reviews are terribly out of date. To get an accurate picture of the school, its challenges as well as its recent success stories, look to school website and local news reports. Well rounded choices for students. New school building, including state-of-the art career/technical wing to begin spring 2016.

It is a level 3 school. This means the state ranks it in the lowest 20%

This school is awful. There is dirt and dust throughout. Many kids fail classes each year. The honors teachers use excuses such as "You're in honors, you should be acing these classes." The school is stressful and a tense environment to work in. The staff only focuses on the "problem students," because they want to try to make it look like it's a good school, so they try to cover up their biggest problems.

It has a horrible reputation. They are Level 3 schools according to the MASS DOE. The district has been sued numerous times.
