No AC for the past 30 years, poor staff, poor leadership, students are generally failures, stay away.

I have had children go through Bedford for the past 6 years and I have had nothing but great experiences. I love that it’s a small community school. The teachers are an asset to Bedford and the administration is outstanding. I have also seen the PTA grow in the past couple years and admire all their efforts in the school.

Bedford is a truly GREAT school. The County, as a whole, changed it's standardized testing a few years ago and all schools are going through an adjustment phase. It's not fair that this site considers the test scores that are several years old in a current rating for the school. The new testing data isn't even available for this rating to be accurate. The leadership and administration at this school as above par. They set expectations and meet them. The staff is amazing. The PTA is very good at this school and that says alot. The events they hold are fun, family engaging, and the school works hard to meet the needs of all of the students. I am delighted that my children go here and I am happy that the school has so much parental and community support.

This school is one of the best schools in Baltimore County. It has strong leadership, excellent teachers and an entire staff committed to the academic success of the students. It's important to note that the data used in the ratings on this site is grossly out dated. The progress made here has been significant. They have a very strong PTA who stands up and fights for the school and students. They are not afraid to tackle tough issues affecting the school and community and have a deep relationship with the surrounding community associations. This school is amazing and I am honored that my children are able to attend.

Bedford is an amazing elementary school with a caring and diverse staff. Each child is nurtured and given high expectations. You really get a sense of community due to the smaller # of students compared to nearby schools with twice the amount of students. The students are friendly, behaved and really enjoy learning. I can't say enough good things about this school. The new Principal is doing a great job as well.

This was the best school that happened for my child. He was there during his 4 and 5th grade years each and every teacher he had created a unique and engaging learning environment for him. They treated him like he was their own child; from his class room teacher to the principal who is an amazing person herself. If your child wants to learn, this school does all it can to be sure that happens. THANK YOU BEDFORD!!!

The principal does not care about the unruly behavior of the students at this school and they go on to be unruly at the middle school. The school desperately needs a behavioral specialist and the administration is too cheap and selfish to appoint one. They downplay all of the crazy disrespectful behavior. The teachers are awesome. Too bad they are not supported by their administration. The administration needs to wake up. Your school has a behavioral problem. Dr. Dance, if you are reading this please step in so that these children will have a chance as they advance forward to secondary schools.

This school is okay. Check the bcps website for the msa report and you will see it is at or below average in most catergories. I have a bright child that would do well anywhere so I dont attribute his success to the teachers or staff there at all. I believe the low performance of the students is due lack of competent leadership, ill equiped teachers and unruly kids. I think the circulum is weak and doesnt prepare for high performing middle school it is especially lacking in the area of science technology engineering and math (STEM). Many teachers are inexperienced and impatient with the kids. They would benefit from more experienced teachers that focosed on teaching than trying to Not fail the MSAs. Their staff can be friendly but are quite rude at times. Teachers and staff could also use some training to improve their soft skills like how to communicate effective, communication, friendliness, and optimism. They need to understand how to build and foster a child's self esteem, confidence and love of learning. In 5 years that my child has been there -little to no academic resources or improvement. Re: other comments..class sizes 20+kids, TA for kids with IEPs only.

Bedford provides students with a nurturing environment that you don't receive at most schools. The class sizes are small and most classes have a TA. They also have numerous resource teachers available as well.
