My son started his Kindergarten year at this school. We had high hopes but sadly those hopes were squashed when we were getting emailed everyday for a week about our son’s “behaviors.” Just one example was being emailed for him saying an “inappropriate word.” My husband and I naturally thought it was something bad. He said the word “booty” but other kids can say actual foul words. Not to mention his teacher had favorites and when your child missed a class she wouldn’t give you any make up stuff. I’m still waiting for his project from Christmas time. Some other things happened that were framed age appropriate and when my son started going to the principals office (from his teacher) three days in a week we knew she was targeting him. Thankfully no other parent has to deal with her next year but we are switching our son to another school. Eventually private school. The principal finally switched him to another teachers room 21 days left in the school year but that’s only because we went to the district.

From the first time I ever stepped foot inside that school I saw nothing but rude staff members. The way they speak to the students upsets me. They talk down to a student instead of uplifting today. I was there picking up my grandchildren one of the teachers thought I was a student and she was yelling at me when she realized that I was not a student she says “oh I’m sorry I thought you were student. “. I did turn around and tell her thet…that was not how she should be speaking to any student… she said nothing back, turned around and then begins speaking to other students asking them to go behind the red line at the front of the school. This was not the first time I had experienced this vice principal was doing the same thing on the second day of school to other students. She thought I was a student as I was crossing and again I told her that that is not how she should be speaking to any student again nothing was said back to me…. The principal she’s very nice. She seems to be understanding but nothing changes direct traffic trying to keep it in order but it’s very frustrating because everybody is telling you different things they all give different direction…. The front desk lady is.rude … every single time that I go to that school I end up telling somebody how rude they are, or I will talk back to defend myself and my grandchildren. I don’t want my grandchildren to be spoken to like that my grandson, kindergarten teacher I believe she picks on him every day. There’s something said almost every day … she says ….he did this or he did that and in front of her, he pretty much tells her she’s not telling the truth…he is always telling me I didn’t do it like that… I didn’t do that, There’s no patience there at that school . This elementary school is not like a normal elementary school… my grandkids are so confused, and if it was up to me, I would pull them out of that school…

My son attended this school for about 2 months and I had to move him from schools. He wasn't getting the help he needed, the teacher was very impatient with him and did not want to help him. I tried going in to observe what was going on and she did not let me. She told me that she had 24 other students to help and that she wasn't going to be holding my sons hand whenever he couldn't keep up with the class. He never went to preschool and she told me that was going to be a big problem. Isn't she a teacher to help out students? I went in for a parent conference with her and told her I was moving my son to another school. She made my son feel very upset everyday. A kinder student shouldn't be put down especially by a teacher, they should be praised for at least trying. Everytime we pass by this school he remembers the bad experience he had. I'm glad I moved him from schools, his new teacher is very patient and he has learned so much.

Sierra Vista has an amazing staff, teachers and Principal. Traffic has greatly improved. I am thankful to Mr Warren, parent volunteers, teachers who always ensure my kids' safety when I drop them off and pick them up. They never fail to inform me of any school events and important reminders through their telephone system. It is a great atmosphere and everyone is friendly. I highly recommend this school.

I am very pleased with this school. There is always an open line of communication between parents and teachers, I am always informed about my child's progress and I can feel an overall sense of pride and ownership of the school from the staff. I was also impressed by the principal's (Mr. Warren) urgency to give back to the community of Perris and involvement with our children's development and success. He and other staff opened the Boys and Girls Club of Perris and I am very happy knowing my son has such a strong, supportive team around him to motivate him to succeed. Also, Ms. Andrews (K teacher) is awesome! She was always supportive of my son and ensuring I was aware of his progress and let me know of ways to reinforce his learning at home. Great job Sierra Vista Staff.

Excellent school! The teachers are amazing! My kids have had some great teachers at this school. Teachers who want your child to succeed. Teachers who listen to your concerns. Teachers who actually care about the student. Plus, they have a very friendly office staff and the principal and vice-principal took the time to get to know my family and other families as well. Great school overall!

Great school with great administration! The school as a whole have the students' best interest in mind. Parking issues have not been ignored and I have personally seen a significant improvement from a few years ago. They have a great faculty and a great personable principal! They take pride in their curriculum and encourage parent-teacher interaction. I am extremely happy with my childs progress within this school.
