Counselors are very disorganized and will not place you in the right classes. They assume you’re behind and need Algebra 1A like every other student without looking at your school transcripts. I was placed in Spanish 1 without being asked what elective I wanted and I was taking AP Spanish at by previous school but if the counselors had looked at my transcript she would’ve known that. Usually when girls fight it’s starts off as a confrontation and they get up in each other’s faces and yell means things to each other and that’s what leads to a physical altercation. I saw security watching girls confront each other and not to anything at all to deescalate the situation by pulling them away from each other. It always seemed like they wanted a fight to break out because they would wait until they started hitting each other. I noticed this a numerous amount of times with male security guards. Never received a student ID even thought I was told plenty of times I would get my picture taken (as a new transfer) for my ID. It’s also very easy to get into campus without having to identify yourself.

The teachers are highly qualified with many years of experience, who encourage and support their students' academic needs. They offer many opportunities for those who ask and even those who don't. Things like; a wellness center for students that need social-emotional help, and a career center for college application help. Additionally, all staff are friendly and willing to help. The school also provides career readiness classes like a mechanics class, culinary class, and medical assisting classes. The school hours are also convenient. This school has so much to offer and it is getting better each year with the new renovations going on.

After going here for 4 years, I can conclude that it's not a good school buuuuttt it's not a bad one either. The teachers are very nice and qualified and there is a large variety of classes to choose from. Gangs are, in my opinion, not a big deal as the earlier reviews make it sound because Perris isn't big on gangs. It's very active in sports and afterschool curriculums. Lunch isn't too bad and there are at most 3 fights a year. With new facilities and classes popping up every year, I wouldn't mind sending my child to this school at all. :)

Perris High School is one of the best high schools in my opinion! The campus is beautiful and the staff and the teachers are amazing! The teachers are always welcoming new students with open arms and large smiles on their faces. I've struggled a lot throughout my freshman year and when I thought I had no one to turn to, I looked back and seen all my teachers standing behind me when I needed it the most. I don't know the definition of a great school but in my opinion, Perris High School would fit in that category. The staff is always friendly and willing to help any student out when he or she is struggling even the slightest bit. The teachers and staff are always helping students out when they're struggling with a problem either school related or even when it's a personal struggle. There are so many clubs and sports and things like that to join. I have not yet joined a club but I am a "TA" (teachers assistant) for the football team and being the only female there, it was an amazing experience. I enjoy seeing the boys and the coach everyday! The coach is amazing and always pushes the boys to their physical breaking point when it comes to football!

I am currently a senior at Perris and have mixed feelings about the school. Those who say the school and it's students are horrid and "ghetto" are ignorant. I currently have a 4.8 GPA and have excelled greatly throughout my high school career. The students that fail do so by choice, not by fault of the school. I do, however, have a great problem with administration. They are extremely corrupt and show favoritism towards athletes. Their priorities are not to help the students succeed in the future, but to keep them in school in order to receive funds. The teachers I have had are nothing short of amazing, but one must take into consideration that I have had all advanced and AP courses, I am sure there are other teachers that are not as supportive or helpful. Although there is a vast portion of students that are not motivated academically and choose to neglect schoolwork, there is still a great amount of brilliant, driven students that have not been held back by the school they attend. There are times when I would prefer attending a different school, but again I have done extremely well at Perris despite its negative reputation.

Perris High is a good school, I cannot complaint about it. It offers a great programs for the students. Counseling service is good, and I have witnessed that the school is improving day by day. A few years ago it was an "uncomfortable" zone; but now, as a parent, I feel always welcomed. Also they provide the Parents University which offers courses to parents and the Parent Center open every Wednesday. All what it is said about this is a bad school , at least to me has been a mistake. Just for a few students who don't want to strive or do their best, sadly, negative opinions "pop out". Just be involved, make sure your student is on the right place at the right time. Visit your son at school sometimes, keep communication with the teachers and everything will work out!
