I went to school at Pellston and I'm so relieved I don't have to send my children there. I'll always remember an occasion that I struggled with math and was told by my teacher, "I can't think of any other ways to help you. I'm sorry." I was actually told by another teacher that I wouldn't amount to anything. I was frequently sent to the office for bizarre reasons. One teacher physically grabbed me after I sprayed myself with perfume at my locker and accused me of drinking. Now I realize their hands should have stayed off of me. The teachers often have their own children in their classes and take favorites among their own children's cliques. It was a rather disgusting experience that has poisoned me a bit against public education. I can't help but worry that my son, who is going to a different school entirely, will encounter such horrible educations. I did have a few good experiences with staff. I feel a need to say that there were two or three teachers that were fantastic but I believe most of those decent educators have retired or relocated.
