Reading was a major issue with our child at Simpson. We kept telling the school there was a reading issue and even asked about dyslexia. Gaslit for years. She was finally diagnosed with dyslexia and we got her help. We’ve heard from other parents as well that Simspon will let the kids slide by for years before providing intervention. Personally have been lied to by admin officials. Never get the full story or answers to our questions from admin. Most of the the teachers though we have loved.

All three of my children attended all years at Simpson. The quality of education, dedication of teachers and administration has been outstanding. I wish all children could attend a school as awesome as this one. Many times teachers and staff went out of their way when we needed academic help or had questions, or problems that needed addressing. Can't recommend it enough!

On two occasions approx. 1 year apart , I emailed the principal, regarding 2 different security/safety concerns. Both times I emailed her twice. I did not get ANY reply either times. I kept ALL paperwork from entire school year of my 2nd grader and there is an indisputable noticable regression. A few months into school my child told me his teacher was absent very frequently. Then every day he would get off bus I would inquire whether or not he had a substitute that day. From my informal polling it appeared she was absent pretty consistently 1-3 times per week. With rotating subs = no consistency. I inquired with the principal and was basically told she was not at liberty to discuss this with me. There was no acknowledgement of my concern and no comforting that this was something that was or would be addressed. Once I received a math assignment in which 19 out of 20 problems were incorrect, yet my child had a smiley face on his paper with NO revisions. I emailed the teacher and was told "we want all our children to feel accomplished and we are validating that they understand the math methodology". Clearly he did not understand the methodology..I asked my son to use the "old school stack and add or subtract methodology" which he did, he got 19/20, with the 1 error being sloppy mistake, he fixed it and got all right.The very first piece of physical documentation I received was a curriculum summary for "Personal Finance". Being a half glass full person I initially thought it was great they were teaching something practical. That's until I had the time to read through the document in detail. I was surprised not to see any topics like work hard = earn income , budgeting , maybe investments, taxes, etc. I sent it to a Certified Financial Planner I know, and said nothing at all l except "what are your thoughts?". He replied and unfortunately exactly validated my thoughts, he said "Socialism Economics 101". The 2 key themes of the document was scarcity and resource allocation. (Disclosure this is county and state problem not necessary school specific, but dli5.did prompt me to want more detail on other subjects, so:After this I scheduled a meeting with the principal to look at the math curriculum. I was denied the math curriculum summary sheet due to ""equity" and then unfair advantage it would put my child. During the same meeting then principal said "shhhh don't tell anyone " and printed the math curriculum summary sheet which made me uncomfortable..

Teacher is absent all the time . There are standardized testing D.A.I.L.Y. My child who is very inquisitive and curious is quickly losing these very traits. They make kids focus on memorizing and regurgitating "facts" (like "the sun is a medium sized star ") for the test, and that's it. There is no intrigue or interest (or likely time ) to learn more and in depth.My child does about 5 maximum math problems a w.e.e.k. I have inquired on details of curriculum and have been denied due to equity.There are loads of parties and the PTA here stands for Party Time Association.No rigor. Low standards. It's all just "fun and games."

Simpson is a fabulous school! My children have attended there for 10 years! I have subbed at Simpson for 10 years also, so I know the staff well. The teachers are phenomenal, all students are treated equally, and the education is exceptional! Students at Simpson are encouraged to do their very best, and the curriculum is full of rigor. However, Simpson is great at identifying students who need extra help, and they definitely get what they need. The administration is exceptional! I'm also a teacher, so I've been a part of other schools, and Simpson is EXCEPTIONAL!

I have two children at Simpson. One mainstream and one in special education, so I feel like I can comment on both a typical learner and atypical - and both are excelling. The communication from their teachers is consistent and thorough. They lay out very specific goals and learning targets for my son and help him to reach them. I am consistently impressed by their patience. My daughter has never had an over abundance of homework and never seems overly stressed about the amount of school work. Add all of this to a pandemic and teaching virtual and face to face, and these teachers and the whole school are rocking it. The consistently reward good conduct and character in the form of star slips on an individual level and positive reinforcement at a class level. The core values of the school are reiterated regularly and my children both understand those principles. On Digital learning days, it does seem like there is a little too much work, and e-class, the system being used is horrendous, but aside from that, we have no complaints.

Very disappointing. It could be worse! Is that what I wanted though? No. I hope things turn around with the new principal.

Love Simpson. The teachers are amazing and are all highly qualified! My daughter is in 5th grade. They have the resources that a private school doesn't even come close to offering her.

My child's first year at Simpson was outstanding! I found the building to be welcoming at all times, despite the amount of security measures in place to keep the students safe. Academically, this school is to cream of the crop. I found my son's teacher to be an expert in her field, finding a balance between strong classroom management and a warm place to learn. The principal is accessible and responds to email in a timely manner. I am looking forward to another successful year!

My son has special needs and we were sent to this school to begin his pre-k year for 2011. My son went in barely making sense of his words and just communicating the basics, now he is communicating beautifully and surprising us more and more daily. They have great patience with him and understanding of his unique needs and the special qualities he possesses as an individual. I have seen him blossom just in the short time he has been with the Simpson team! Mrs. Le Blanc and Ms. Irene are awesome thank you so much from the bottom of my families heart you have made a difference in our lives forever!

today my son was at school and he got hurt very bad on his upper lip. i NEVER received a phone call from the school stating he got hurt. the only thing i did receive was a note from the teacher with out explaning what happen to him. he is also a special ed student. i am very upset with this school. all they gave him was a ice as it says on the note. when he got home, i had to take him to the hospital because it was very big lip! and he can not ear because it hurts him very bad! and he crys. i would not recommended this school regardless of what any other ratings say.
