HORRIBLE LACK OF TRAINING WITH THE SPECIAL NEEDS TEACHERS

They do not think they need to follow IEPs here, or get back to parents to address concerns. Think very carefully before enrolling here, especially if your child has an IEP. If you didn't know there are "self contained" classrooms, that's what they do here, and contrary to what administration says about that, know that your kid will even eat there, will leave for nothing but art/music, maybe. If you are eligible for any voucher program whether income based or special needs, you should take that and go to a private school. Otherwise, find a good attorney first and have the number handy vs enrolling then scrambling for one.

I love Kirkersville as much as my children do! The school is clean and well managed. Excellent safety policies in play. Doorbell entry, safety staff stationed during drop off and pick up times. Morning greeters for students. They follow a good citizen policy which reinforces caring behaviors and hardworking skills. The teachers are very excellent. They truly care for our children and strive for success. They welcome parent helpers whom have been given a full background check. They have field trips to one room school house, apple orchard, pumpkin patch, Cosi on wheels... they have multiple student involvement performances. And they have some after school programs. Kirkersville elementary is a great school.
