Great school. Great teacher. So glad to be part of the community. Both my boys thrive under MHS. Can’t recommend enough for families shopping for high school.

MHS has provided our children with an amazing high school experience. They have benefited greatly from a small yet thriving community with caring teachers who know each student. The sports programs and academics are top notch and the environment is welcoming and encouraging. Cannot speak highly enough about this school.

MHS has been welcoming and hospitable from the very beginning, which made our family feel most heard, known, and a place to belong. We value the school’s integrity and intentional efforts on being Christ-centered in the academics, athletics, and community.

We absolutely love Maranatha. The faculty and the teachers are very Christ oriented and incorporate Christian values in majority of their classes. Teachers are attentive to the students in the classroom and are the role models we have been looking for to mentor our children and to help them grow in a high school environment.

My daughter is a Freshman and so far we have been pleased with the way the school creates opportunities for students to connect. The Freshman retreat right before school started was how my daughter met her favorite friends. The no phone policy is a GREAT way for students to experience high school! The teachers are genuinely caring. So far so good!

I have had one child go through Maranatha, one child who is currently at Maranatha, and one child who is coming through soon. I have been so happy with how Maranatha has prepared my children, has given them a strong voice, a solid education, a great experience in sports and most of all has helped them grow stronger in their faith.

This school is amazing. I graduated from this school, my brother as well. I have sent both my children to this school. Mr. Rouse really cares about the students. The only complaint I have is they have young deans who allow their "title" go to their heads. My son applied to 10 amazing colleges and got into all of them. Many parents think just because they "PAY" for their children to go to the school they "expect" the school to do everything. You have to be proactive and involved as a parent. You need to take responsibility for your own children. This is at any school.

All three of my children attended this school and all three are doing extremely well. Mr John Rouse is excellent and they have a good program with extra curricular activities for every possible thing your child can be into. My kids did sports, yearbook, and drama. But there's a variety other things for your child to develop in. What I wanted for my children was a well rounded education with a Christ centered focus and that is what they received. Additional perks are that it is a co-ed school. Life is co-ed so school should be co-ed. I believe that is how you get the best education, by getting a sampling of how all minds think and process different ideas. Academically, my children did well, and are able to perform well due to basic things that were taught that are not so common. They know how to write a research paper (without plagiarizing), and give the proper references. This is something my children were surprised that not all college students know how to do. Imagine what it's like if they don't know how to write in college and they get an assignment to write a 25 page single spaced paper in class. My children are discerning. While at Maranatha, they learned their Bible so well, that when they travel and visit other churches, they can spot a sermon that is well done from one that strays biblically. And the best part is that they met other students who became their lifelong friends. The teachers are loving and I feel it was money well spent.

Really dissapointing. We had high hopes. They talk a good game and do a great job of promoting themselves, but the actual student experience falls really short. Wish our child had gone somewhere else. If your family is uber wealthy, you will get special treatment and attention. Or if your child is the top 1%, they will get plenty of attention.

Terrible school. Would not reccomend. This place was truly the worst place to be at. The administration, the staff, EVERYTHING. The food is overpriced and costs about 10 dollars. Pasta alone costs 5 dollars. But when you add green onion, it turns into 7.50. Ridiculous. The administration does not care about you as a student. You have to pay for detention. The disrespect overall is just... Wow. Please do not send your children here.

Very family and student centered. Great school for families of faith, as well.

Well, the teacher who wrote the review in 2013 was let go for starters. 98 teachers in 5 years now, its a fact, go through the yearbook. The pass rates of the AP exams were so bad they tried and failed to change the numbers, they were caught changing as many as 50 grades without teacher consent for the last two years.I have had 3 kids go there and sadly I have one left, he is staying for his friend. I l gave up hope three years ago and came to visit at the 50th, The scores are down, the turnover is so high they blocked "job search" on the search function, then they changed the contract to sue anyone who left the school. Currently they are suing a former teacher for 10K, its crazy. She was my kids favorite but she said the place is the most toxic work environment she has ever seen.I am stunned that ACSI has not done an investigation on the missing materials, vacations and lack of leadership. No one is willing to do much, they wont even have a town hall meeting so I can ask questions, they said they prefer "one to one" so they don't give the masses strength. It was once a great school, with great teachers and a wonderful future. Now its a dumbed down school just like any other private school. If you cant get into Poly, Prep or St. Francis and your sure you dont want public. This is your school.

My son is graduating this year. He has been admitted to most of the high ranking universities he applied to. The school is rich in providing extracurricular activities such as clubs and sports and has a great drama/musical program as well as an Arts program. The teachers are caring and the students have the opportunity to take as rigorous of a course work as they can handle as there is an abundance of AP classes. The environment at the school is a very positive one where students feel loved and cared for. In the last few years there has been a great improvement in standardized test scores, such as SAT and ACT as well as a high rate of passing grades in the AP tests. Of course Christianity is taught as well which is a definite plus. I believe that's what contributes to the positive and caring mood that prevails throughout the school. I would strongly recommend this school.

i am a graduating senior that has been here for 4 years. this school is terrible. there is no challenge in academics. becoming a christian seems to be more important to the admin than receiving a good education and preparing you for college. dont be fooled by the words "college preparatory school." they have not prepared me for college at all. if you are not christian, you will unfortunately constantly be questioned as to why. i had really high hopes for this school, considering the beautiful campus and the tuition my parents were paying. but this school is an absolute letdown.

Maranatha High School is an amazing Christ centered high school with rigorous academics and an engaging, compassionate community. The school has so much to offer academically, in the arts, in sports, clubs, and missions. The teachers challenge my son academically while also, mentoring, praying with and coming along side him in school activities such as sports, arts, and missions. The teachers make this school a very unique experience that allows students to flourish and grow into individuals that desire to globally change the world and have a passion to serve. Having four children all gone through excellent Christian education at different school s in California, I must say my youngest being at Maranatha High School has been an extraordinary experience. I am watching him overcome major medical struggles with grace and determination to make each day truly count toward the kingdom of God. I know this would not be possible at other schools. I watch how staff members, teachers, administrators and coaches have personally invested in my son. There is an intentional teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ, the world he created and the role we are to play in it.

Caveat emptor. I have noticed unfavorable reviews about this school seem to disappear. Not only did a review of our experience with this school get removed, but I notice other posts have been deleted as well.

I only hope that when my young children are in high school I can send them to Maranatha! There is no other school I'd want them to go to. The academics are great and the close and relational culture of the school is something I would want for my kids. The faculty truly invest in the students and the time and effort they spend mentoring these young people is commendable.
