The special education department this year is doing a tremendous job and the kids feel very welcomed and happy to learn. The ELOP and other supporting programs from the district also help these in many ways. Happy to be here.

As a parent, things I like about this school has been the low teacher/student ratio, involvement of parents in schools, emphasis on reading, buddy system with kindergarteners with older kids, etc. During the recent year they gave out ipads to students early on and gave options of distant learning vs hybrid which helped give flexibility. While talking to other parents at other school districts, I could see this district was one of the first to act and give out ipads to everyone and also offer distant options which really helped, and also the hours put in was much greater than other school districts. My experience with teachers both at the school in the past and in distant learning have been extremely positive. I'd highly recommend anyone to attend this school.

It was not too good the school was not to clean and they did not punish anyone correctly and they do not clean the school very well

El Carmelo is generally a good school with qualified teachers and some very supportive parents. There are about 20-30% of new families every year.

I totally agree with one of the parent. In K, there are 2 awesome teachers who are doing a great job in literacy. Be aware that the 2rd one is doing a lot of damage : all the school knows about it.

Two of El Carmelo's 3 kinder teachers are warm, respect children, and are skilled in literacy instruction.
