Not the school it used to be. A lot of Nepotism. Most of the teachers are good teacher is the only reason one star plus you cant give less than one star.

I was guided to this site through a facebook page bashing our wonderful school, so here's what I think. Neches is about as good as it gets for a small school. There are a few things you cant do here, like play football, play in the band, etc. But, as far as academics and the sports and activities we do have, it's every thing you could wish for. I love the way my kids are treated, and I feel the school does way more outside of the classroom than any other school while maintaining good scores in the classroom. GO Tigers!!

My daughter has been going there for 3 years now (she started in first grade). I LOVE THIS SCHOOL. I do not know what the bad reviews are about below! I have never experienced anything remotely like what these other people are saying. We moved here from out of state and the community and everyone at the school has welcomed us with open arms. Personally, the below comments sound to me like drama with a personal vendetta. I do not know anything about the high school, but the elementary is great...ALL THE STAFF!!

Very deceptive place to be. Pitt full of people who go to extreme to look out for and take care of their own. Principle of the Elementary/Junior High and her ways is the biggest threat to the morals, success and reputation of the school. She is a tyrant and bully and does whatever she wants, crosses boundaries and provokes confrontations with parents and there is nothing they can do about it because her own husband is her boss, the Superintendent of the district. Can't help but wonder how many good teachers, staff and students/parent volunteers they have lost due to her unprofessional, insulting, unnecessary, bully behavior. Be very aware that the level of trust in this school is extremely low. But there are also some very good, decent and caring teachers within. Don't understand why they are still teaching under such poor leadership.

Awful, awful, awful in every aspect. Very unhappy with the school, principal and superintendent who are relatives!!! Rough and abusive environment. I will never advice this horrible place to nobody.

I gave Neches ISD a 1 star, because it does not allow for anything lower. The Elementary principal is married to the Superintendent, the School Board members are all related to one, both or other school board members. Last year my high school son was physically assaulted to the point his nose was broken and he had a concussion, he was NOT sent to the hospital. Even though he did not lay a hand on the other boy, both were suspended for 1 day. I had to demand the other boy get 3 days, which he finally did. My 5th grader pushed the elementary principal's son and received 2 days suspension. There were no injuries, no blood, no broken nose. After this year I am moving and would NOT let my dog go to this school. That being said there are some really good teachers that teach at the school, but that alone is not worth the frustration and injustice my children experienced at the hands of the administration.
