Horrific experience with this school at every turn. During the first 34 days I had seen more significant issues in Alpac than I have sending my child to public school in the last 5 years. There is a significant amount of bullying within the school. Staff is rude, pushy and under educated. Attempted intimidation of multiple parents that I have spoken with. Child safety is not a priority after school limited supervision is given allowing children to wonder off or be picked up by anyone without staff noticing. Young children are sent on the incorrect bus routes. The pick up and drop off system is an accurate reflection of the lack of organization skills within the school's staff. After arriving to school kids walk around the front of the school after picking up breakfast unsupervised by staff right next to a main road where they can be taken without being noticed. This allows any elementary student to leave the property unnoticed by school staff. There is no lunchroom. Any stranger entering the building to get to the office will immediately have access to students getting their lunch which is a huge safety concern because anyone is allowed through the front doors. I have never seen any school or childcare facility have such little regard for the safety of the children. I highly recommend avoiding this public school at all costs. Waver into another school, k12 or find a private school scholarship program for lower and middle class families. This school has had a negative emotional and psychological impact on my child and entire family over the course of just a few weeks with back to back negative events. I have never had a single bad thing to say in regards to a school previously. There are additional significant issues that I will not state at this time to prevent from being identified as a parent of one of the students. This school alone could drop property values in the surrounding area.

Looking at old reviews for Alpac, I'm incredibly encouraged. I came to work at Alpac the same year as the new principal (about 7 or 8 years ago) and major staffing changes. Alpac has been a wonderful place for me to learn, grow, and excel as an educator. I've always felt supported professionally and I've made some wonderful friends among my peers and colleagues. During my first year here, before I got permanently placed, I subbed at many elementary schools around the Auburn School District. I never experienced the warm welcome, encouragement, and help I got at Alpac. I was happy to accept a job there once one opened up. As far as the students, most staff seems genuinely interested in the individual success of each student. There's a great mix of fresh new teachers, very experienced teachers, and well qualified support staff. Alpac is home to 3 teachers of the year and one of the custodians is also a Custodian of the Year. For some reason there's high turnover in the Special Education Department, multiple assistant principals over the years, and it seems like the Behavioral Intervention Specialist position is just used as an Assistant Principal incubator as nearly every person that has occupied that position does so for a year or two then gets hired as some other school's Assistant Principal. Alpac is great and barring any major leadership changes, I'll likely work here for many, many years to come.

We love Alpac. We have been here for 5 years. Although we came from a more affluent school, we much prefer the attitude of these great teachers! Altogether we have had 12 homeroom teachers and only 1 we didn't much care for. That was more than made up for with 3 of the best teachers I've ever met, and with my oldest just graduated, I've met a whole lot of teachers. I don't care much for the exclusive attitude of the PTA, but after trying to volunteer a few times, I just accepted that I can volunteer for the fabulous teachers and avoid the PTA. Overall, we are so glad that we ended up at Alpac!

This school has done everything in their power to make sure that my child is being challenged academically. They have higher reading and math groups so that the children don't have to sit there bored, listening to everything they already know- they are learning things as high above their grade level as they are able to learn. They have really worked with us on many levels. My child needed an IEP due to some behavioral issues. I never knew about IEP's until his teacher & accompanying staff suggested one to me. He has always hated school- even since pre-school.. saying he didn't like his teacher and that he was bored by the work. Now he is in 3rd grade and actually loves his teacher! He doesn't complain about having to go to school any more. I am so grateful for everyone involved.Moving in the area and getting assigned to Alpac was the best thing to happen for my child's education. Before my child's enrollment @ Alpac, we were considering moving out of state. Now, I refuse to leave because I don't think we would be able to find a school that has been as excellent as this.THANK YOU ALPAC STAFF!

Alpac has been a nightmare for our child. We have tried to foster a relationship with the staff, but have been consistently disappointed. Our child was forced to suffer at the hands of dangerous and disruptive students in the classroom...with nothing more than a "time out" in the Principal's office for the offending students. There were multiple occasions that reporting to the authorities was called for...and not ONE member of the staff followed through with reporting the situation. The new Principal is nice, but carries no authority or influence. Teachers are not supported by the administration, in house or from the district. Multiple safety hazards, real and potential, were brought to the attention of the staff with minimal response. The kindergarten class went on ONE local, two hour field trip, never had a music program, and essentially was ignored in the whole of the school agenda. Regardless of the "improved scores" of late, this school is sorely lacking.

This school is great! I love the Walk-to-Math, Walk-to-Read programs! They test each student and place each one in a reading and math class based on their level. Love this! It's not all generic. I have two boys that go to this school and both are in the top classes! The teachers are great. Hope it stays this way with the new principle.

NNo lunchroom, kids eat breakfast outside before the teacher lets them in, teachers send homework home but don't check it, front office lady is clueless and rude. My husband volunteered to help in class and said teacher was very lazy and just handed paper after paper for the kids to work on but didn't check it.

This school is horrible!! I switched my kids as soon as I could, the special needs of my daughter where pushed to the side because they didnt wanna do it, now she has an IEP and is doing great! They dont give the kids a normal social hour for lunch they make them eat within 15 min in the classroom, as well as breakfast they must eat within 5 to 10 min before school starts and do it in the classroom as well there is no lunchroom in this school!!! The teachers are un-prepared and totally chaotic. The staff in the office is unfriendly and the principal seems clueless and oblivious to life in general!! Would not recomend this school to my worst enemy!!
