Both of my sons attended this school a few years back and we had mostly positive experiences with kind teachers and an almost family-like atmosphere. Like any school, there were some rough patches, mainly in the area of lowering expectations for some students, but overall there are some truly caring individuals working at Joe-Toler. I am very proud of this small town school.

It is the stupidest school my son has ever attended. My son use to love going to school and, now he dreads it. Some kids it seems like they get in trouble for breathing too loud. While others, that seem to have lived here forever their kids hardly ever get punished it seems like. I also am just not a fan of this school either. I never seen more rude teachers. Yeah, they seem to love questioning the kids, but when a parent questions there actions they seem to get offensive. Trying to get something done about a problem in that school, well you'd be better off banging your head off a brick wall. The only good thing about that school is the principal Mr.Allen, he seems to be the only one who knows what he's doing. Anyways, I can't wait til my son leaves this school.

Our child completed k - 5 th grade here finishing in 2011. She thrived here and scored perfect 4's on her EOG tests every year. This school is like a family, everybody knows everybody else. We will miss them terribly and doubt our child will ever have a similar experience again. WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL and all the teachers and staff. The principal is also an awesome person and a tremendous role model for the students. One particular teacher, Ms. Richards, is especially remarkable. Her classes EOG scores are among the best in North Carolina. Granville County is lucky to have her! If your child is going to JTOH you are going to have a positive experience.
