I pulled my child from the school because each time I had a concern about something the administrators seemed to be dismissive and also didn’t pay attention. My daughter bought up a concern about a para that worked there and not only did they not ask my child what happened but NEVER properly addressed the issue.Secondly for them to walk children in a large group across a very busy intersection is dangerous, even if there’s crossing guards there. Dismissal is a circus. I wasn’t impressed by the school and I DO NOT recommend it

My son has been at this school for the past 4 years, started in kindergarten and currently in the 4th and its overall been a good experience. I have found most of the teachers, engaged, enthused and helpful. Communication is pretty good. I get calls same day for any issues and concerns and as a parent of an ADHD child, accommodations have been made and he does get the extra attention needed. They recently started free tutoriing after school. When there has been some bulleying issues, a quick email to the assistant principal and it ws handled. I feel the administration does what they can to keep the students and building safe and try to start ot keep programs going to enrich the educational experience.

4 out of 10 although it’s a lighthouse school the amount of homework to reinforce learning is truly not given. If your child attends this school they will be bullied. The teachers have no control of these kids. Children use foul language and degrade one and other.

When my son transferred here they were far behind the school he was in before. He was doing double digit multiplication and division in his other school, and came here only to relearn addition and subtraction (which isn't necessarily bad). I really like this school besides the horrible bullying.

This is an amazing school and we are so glad that my son is getting his first schooling experience at LMES. He has a long way to go, but first impression has a lot to do with his expectations of a school. The staff is amazing, school is very neat and organized. They give just the correct amount of homework and lots of parent-teacher-student activities. They live up to their motto - Explorers Believe, Explorers Achieve!

An amazing school with an amazing staff and teachers. LMES sets the standards for Elementary Schools. It is leading the way in technology by providing each child with an HP tablet. Students in 4th and 5th grade are provided instruction in Spanish through the BCPS Passport Program. There are an endless supply of continued learning opportunities through the extracurricular activities provided at LMES. The LMES teachers go above and beyond. They don't just do their job and go home. They make themselves available and work collaboratively with parents to give each child the best education a parent could ask for. This is my child's final year in Elementary and by comparison, I am ambivalent about the prospect of finding an equally accomplished Middle School.
