If you're looking for a great school keep right on looking past this one. The academics are good but my child encountered persistent bullying in her early elementary years there. We spoke with the administration about it but incidents kept occurring. It seemed if your parents were making good contributions no one wanted to rock the boat. The kids are pretty spoiled and privileged and if you think they would model Christian behaviors, not quite so much. If you kids a jock, they might fit in but if they have interest in art, music, computers they're more of a target. Since joining BV public school my kid actually looks forward to school, is thriving and getting great grades. At ACS she had persistent illnesses and begged to stay home.

This is our first year at Ascenson and I couldn't be happier. I really feel a sense of community at this school. The church supports the school and it's students. The principal and parents support the teachers. The teachers really care about the school and their students. The academics are challenging and I have already seen how well supported the students are that struggle with reading or math. We are truly blessed to be at this school. Keep up the great work!

My son is in his 8th year at Ascension. I have found the school to provide a diverse and innovative educational expirience. The school families are the backbone of the 2nd largest parish in the KC area, and the school kids are given many opportunities for service within the school, parish and community. Facilities are excellent and improving, and the teachers are tough. Mostly fair, but willing to personally take an interest in getting your child the help that he or she needs. Ascension reinforces the Catholic ideals and values that parents attempt to instill at home. I'm a very satisfied parent who has been a member of Ascension since the founding in 1991.
