I'm a student here, and I would say rpms and elementary is a very good school the teachers do care a lot about you more than themselves I love RP its the best I've been going here for 8 years and I'm not tired of it. Yu can make so many new friends so fast and the teachers care about your health and your grades and they will contact your parents right away if you do something the school doesn't tolerate. I've seen the principals take students into the office because of vaping, drugs, and selling things we aren't supposed to. There have also been many fights the teachers and principals handle. I think this is a good school in my opinion. And if your child is getting bullied yu guys say "They don't take care of it" That's because ur daughter/son didn't tell anybody nor make an incident report about the bullying.

This has been the worst school we have ever dealt with, we were told it was one of the best schools up here with great support for students. This is farthest from the truth, the teachers do not teach what so ever they have a huge turn around in teachers throughout the school year. Teachers DO NOT communicate with kids or parents on academics. If you have a learning disability forget it absolutely no help! The grading in classes is never updated appropriately one week your child has an A and the next week your child has an F and all the teacher says is well I am showing the student what they can earn if they do good, as far as I am concerned that is not helping a child succeed! Very disappointed!

Great teachers, horrible care when it comes to the principal and his care for each and everyone of the victims of bullies. Pro bully principal by far. Even the students call the principal soft on bullies.

The only reason why my daughter is still in this school is, because I have no other choice. I have so many issues with bullying, that I have to take my daughter to therapy. It is so bad that they stole my daughters headphones (really expensive by the way). The principal and the assistant principal (Mark Andreasen and Amy Sarkesian) are a joke they don’t know how to deal with this issue. I had to make a police report because they can’t do anything about it, the only good teachers that knows how to deal with bullying is Mrs Young and Mr Wiggns. I can’t believe that the school can’t do anything about thieves. Teachers are not allowed to tell the students anything when they steal something. Our education system is broken, students don’t take school personal seriously. I’m not generalizing, but the parents of the thieves are creating criminals for our society. It’s so sad that the place they are supposed to feel safe they are being robbed at. It’s sad that I have to force my daughter to go to school because she doesn’t feel the desire to go anymore. In what era do we live in m, that even law enforcement have to get a warrant to search the students backpacks. I really hope the school have more interest in fixing these issues.

My daughter loves the school, there's very few issues with bullying and class disruptions. They teachers are all very willing to help and are extremely nice about it. Most of the students are very well mannered and helpful.

This school USED to be a diamond in the rough. Since Griggs has taken over it is a joke! The turn over of teacher is horrible. My oldest graduated some years back when it was k-12 all at the elementary campus and the school was great! It's great schools rating was at an 8 and now it's a miserable 5! The fact that there aren't too many better choices in the high desert I will say that it's a descent choice just disheartening to see this amazing school going down hill. If you're looking for amaxing teachers I will say Mrs. Rojas is the BEST you will find ANYWHERE! Mrs. Anna Price is an amazing addition to any position they have her in for that day, and Mrs. Daniel really cares for her TK classes and Mrs. Ackermann is the best choice for Kinder in the high Desert.

Great. Nice teachers. Very welcoming.I am most impressed with the elementary school. My two daughters have had excellent teachers. Mr.Hawkins, Mrs. Nieblas, Mrs. Kaelin, and mr.Bruscino did not only challenge them academically but helped them develop personally. Mr Titus is an excellent principal. He listened to my concerns and adjusted the girls curriculum as necessary to help them continue enjoying school. I am sorry to see Mr Charbono, the assistance, go to become a principal elsewhere. No bullying in this school. My girls cried the last day of school prior to summer break and are looking forward to returning.I also had a daughter in the high school. Kids seem nice, supportive. During the presentation the new principal gave me a good vibe, but needs to work on execution. The 9th grade math not "international" quality, yet inflexible making adjustments to engage students in a more challenging class. 8 visits between my husband and myself and when I pulled my daughter out for independent study, I still had not met the counselor. I think overall could be a good program, better than other schools, but as an engaged parent, I do not feel a true open door policy exists. Dont know if due to resources, poor execution or need for revamped executive plan....

The teachers are great. I have 3 children at this school. My youngest started in kinder and now in second grade. She has been on honor roll since kindergarten. My son started in 1 St grade great teachers perfect fit for him. My oldest started in 2nd grade. She didn't adjust to the new school until middle school. No fights. No bullying. No problem with this school. Im not sure why they received a 5. Test scores must be low. My children have excelled in this school.

This is a great school. The transportation department can improve. Other than that I would recommend it to anyone

OK school, compared to the public ones around. However, we have a lot missing (applies to High School). No computer lab, though they claim to be a technology based school. No industrial shop. Just got a gym. No library. No wrestling or tennis. Swimming team is 2 people, out of almost 2,000. No nurse. Only language taught is Spanish. AP, Principle, band director, and intro to business teacher left; within a year of each other. No security, and cameras don't cover whole HS campus anymore. No robotics anymore, took most electives away. Claimed to be project based, but are JUST NOW, TRYING, to implement project based learning, and nothing yet. In addition, they have set bus routes. So it is hard to be able to get to another students house to work on projects, meaning parents are responsible for dropping off, and picking up student (which may inconvenience many parents who have unusual work schedules). Many of the reviews came from parents. So this is one from a student. RP is not all it is cracked up to be. Makes me sad being there since 7th grade (now in 11th) and seeing that teachers are still not following the handbook,as well as letting the problem kids still be a problem.

My kids did great during their elementary years at R.P., but now that they're in high school I've decided after having continual communication and academic differences with the teachers, staff, and the Oro Grande school district offices we're going to move them to our local high school. I placed them at R.P. because the administrators and many of the teachers were members of our church and we felt due to the reputation they had in church that same character would follow into the way the school was ran. I was wrong- i.e.-my daughter struggles in math. We were contacted just before grades came out that she'd be receiving a low grade (we had no warning in time to address the problem beforehand) yet when we received her report card she had a "B". - Big Red Flag! The teachers struggle. Most of them are fresh our of college and haven't got a clue how to handle the human aspect of teenagers. They can't control the immaturity of their students. Bullying is an issue, along with extreme foul language and sexual harassment. They bit off more than they could chew, and I won't have my kids continue to be victims of the school's lack of character, quality education and morals.

This school is a joke! We heard so many acclaimed "project-based" success stories. We put our 2 girls (10 & 11). They took an educational placement test. The school would only take students at or above grade level. "Great!" We thought. After 2 years of dealing with 1st year, zero trained teachers in project based teaching, and no curriculum in the areas of math and english, we pulled our girls out. Check riverside's math percentages....in the toilet. As a certified educator, I had the training and resources to teach my girls after school in algebra, basic math, writing instruction, etc. Recently, the Superintendent and. Assistant super were fired. I witnessed many questionable educational and financial dealings. Research and observe with eyes wide open!

Goodness, gracious if you don't like the school just take your kids out. Put them in as you put it a "real school." Since most of the negatives come from parents, take your child out make room for those on the waiting list...but of course if your kid was already kicked out, or you were fired than I guess we know where all the hate is coming from. Fat checks, family connections, what the heck? Charter schools are not the Mafia, they are an option, another avenue for parents like me to take. Victor school district is struggling financially if you're so smart why don't you roll out some solutions rather than compare a school that is sending students to good schools including Harvard, UCLA, Yale, Stanford, ( that's right the proof is in the pudding, not from your opinion thank goodness), and providing jobs for people that have school loans to pay and families to feed. Spend some time with yourself, look in the mirror tell yourself you are beautiful, and you don't need to hate to be validated. If your kids were kicked out, well my kids haven't and my children are pretty eccentric. Teachers, and schools are to educate the mind, character is built in the home. Look within.

I attended RP for two years and then Serrano for two years. I can honestly say that the RP teachers care a lot more about you as a student. Serrano is great, but if you are having trouble or messing around and not doing your work, you drown. At RP I had teachers calling and emailing my parents when I wasn't getting things done, and they were always willing to work with me to get my grades back up. RP teachers really care, almost to the point where I felt babied. But to say the school sucks because you had good grades and then had trouble at Serrano, well, it's probably because you are aloof to the efforts of people around you. Also, RP doesn't give homework until you are an 11th grader or if you are in AP classes. So maybe you feel like it's easier because of that. But you can't hide as a student. The teachers know you, know your abilities, and get to know your parents. That's why RP's test scores are much better (822 vs. Serrano's 790). It's pretty simple.

I've been reading about allegations that the teachers aren't really teaching the kids, but are more concerned with the reputation of the school. Well, I can say, at least in my son's case, I do not believe that is the case. He has been at Riverside Prep for three years now. He is in 6th grade. Prior to that he went to a well-known private school in Hesperia. He has always been an A student and continues that trend. His teachers have ALL been excellent. Each year he has a hard time deciding who is the best teacher. I was worried about him going into middle school at 6th grade, but he has done better in 6th grade than in elementary. This school also has PLENTY for kids to do and get involved in. I think everyone's experience is different in every situation, but if you do what you're supposed to, like in anything, this can be a very positive experience if you are a student. Keep it up Riverside Prep!

Teacher do not know much of what they teach. Yes, your kids are gonna get good grades, the teachers are told to inflate grades to make the school look better. I slept in almost every class there, constantly talking, paying little attention, and got B's. I switched to Serrano recently and had a rude awakening to what a real school is. NO THE PRINCIPLE IS NOT A GREAT LEADER. Only thing I've ever heard from him to a student was negative. I remember in 7th grade for a speech he made he said, "I don't want your best... I want the best." Take that how you want, but that's not very influential.
