I love Olympia High school, the education level and opportunities it offers are completely amazing, giving students multiple paths for the future and filling them up with good opportunities such as the biomedical science program and the Engineering one, but in some cases it's no use having such opportunities if the teaching skills of a teacher are not good enough to actually help us students achieve our very best, I believe that both students and teachers should be worried about a students performance and not just sticking to the thought "it's all on you", one of the best example in this case is the new program for aviation offered on campus with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, this was a really promising program this year that ended up disappointing its students completely, during the first semester students learn about the aviation history all through the use of a book, latter on and pretty much at the end of the semester, suddenly students were told that during the entire semester they were meant to have a canvas course, which they were never told about and then had to get up to date with, during this semester the teacher would occasionally give some kind of instruction, but once entered the second semester; everything went completely down the hill, the teacher would give three different books and will not know how to differentiate between them, without even giving students a first chance to read the content will ask questions about the entire content and wouldn't allow for different students to answer but just the same three students over and over, later we were informed we would have to take a certification, having around two weeks to prepare with a completely new course, this was all during the final weeks of school, so it meant nobody would be prepared at all, with the great quality instruction all students were not really even trying anymore because of giving up completely on the course, and as a result only one person got to pass the certification assessment with a 70%, I myself can assure that I actually cared a lot about this class, given that im someone who really cares about maintaining a good and high GPA, but if this is how instruction is going to be offered then I can tell this program is a complete waste of time, not worth being even an option next year, I had never regretted so much had taken a class, but sadly for me it was too late to quit and swap for another class, I love Olympia, but this class doesn't deserve to be there.

This school is the best and I would highly recommend! It is one of the only high schools in the area that has effectively banned phones during the school day and the principal is very hand on. From the APEX program for the high achievers to the special needs program, the teachers really care and it shows. The SRO officers on campus are very effective but also great with the students there is much love on this campus. The Athletic department rivals private schools, in fact many of the top athletes and local private schools have transferred to Olympia and are so glad they did they loved their experience. I noticed many reviews here were under the old leadership and during Covid times, the past two years have seen a huge upswing under Principal Gorberg's leadership.

If your child is an above average AP student or falls in the special needs category then you and your child may have a good experience there. But if they are an average student struggling in any way you’ll find no support. Your child is treated as a number and there is no personal consideration granted in any way. If your child isn’t bringing the school any money (AP classes/ESE) they don’t care whether your child succeeds or not. You just get pushed around from one department to another, even at the Vice Principal level and they don’t take in to consideration what your pediatrician or therapist recommends nor do they consider any type of parent input as to what may be best for your child. And the Guidance department is completely overworked so don’t look for help there. If you’re zoned for this high school save your money for private school!

Honestly it should be a 7 or a 8 because ever since I sent my son here he has gotten better help and teaching at this school than any other school. The teachers are super helpful to the student and they really care about the kids and not just there paycheck. Also the diversity of the school is very good, kids of all races hanging out with each other. God bless this school.

If you are considering schools when moving, do not consider this school. Your child will be a number and a score. Any special accommodations are looked at as an inconvenience. I gave the school 2 stars not zero because the Deans are awesome. The guidance counselor appears overworked and does not care. As long as you have a straight A student, they care. If you do not, you are nothing. Not a great school at all!

After researching best public schools, I moved to this area just so my kids could attend Olympia High School. I found the school to be very academically challenging and prepared my boys for college. Both boys received a 100% Bright Futures scholarship and a UCF Pegasus scholarship for the Fall 2018 school year.

This school has a horrible guidance department on the outside they'll be friendly and welcoming but on the inside they are very disrespectful and do not attend to students and parents needs when we need assistance. On top of that this school is dropping in rank and grades and soon will be reflective of their "system".

I have 2 boys that recently just graduated from Olympia and I found the staff very professional and they were challenged in all academic studies. They started College at FSU with 20+ credits through AP classes offered at Olympia. I would highly recommend this school!

I won't say this school is perfect,because it's not.However,unlike what other reviews say,it is a great school.Some classes are still too oversized and the curriculum still lacks a bit though.Despite what some parents may say about some teachers and how they teach,it's usually their students fault for the grade they recieve.It's simple,if at least one person has an A,then the teacher is doing their job.If a student is unable to retain what is taught,that's their fault.Alot of students get away with blaming their teachers for thier grades because their parents are naive enough to believe them.Most of the teachers there care about thier students from what I've seen,some have even made personal relationships with their students.The sports there are pretty good(except football).The only real problem at the school is cooperation.Students aren't meeting their teachers half-way.Regardless of all that it's still an A school.

Despite not being able to exempt exams, even if I have an A in that class, this school is by far the best high school I've attended. I love that a Latin class is provided, it really shows that they care for our scores on the SAT. It also shows the variety of classes here.

Olympia is actually a GREAT school. I have a daughter that graduated from here last year and I have a daughter that will be a sophomore here this year. Last year I had absolutely no problems with either one of them at Olympia. They loved it! There are of course some teachers that they liked more than others. And there were some teachers that really didn't care but they both did what they had to do and moved on. I would recommend Olympia over any other Orange County high school hands down.

Olympia may not be perfect, but it's still a great school. Most of my teachers are good, and Mr. Budd, my drama teacher, is amazing. He really cares for his students and isn't judgmental.

The area where Olympia High School is located in SW Orlando is one of the nicest places in Orlando to live. But unfortunately, Olympia high school is bad news! There are two full time orange county sherrifs on duty at all times to break up the weekly fights and investigate all of the stealing that goes on at that school. It's out of control! And, if your kids play basketball watch out! They have a terrible freshman coach, a JV coach with an anger management problem and varsity coach who is there just so his son can play, which is why more than a half a dozen very talented student athletes have transferred to better schools. If you've ever seen the show Lock Down, that's what it looks like when they change classes. Go tour the school and see for yourself.
