Lockhart Middle School is a good-ish school. The school does have alot of fights and alot of teachers weren't the kidest. The Magnet program gives us alot of pressure especially we have to stay above AB average. The school does have things to offer. But for all sixth graders the teachers i reccomend having are Ms Lewis and Mr Russell.

This might just be the worst school ever encountered. The engineering program anymore is an absolute lie and it isn't what anybody says it is. There is no engineering anymore my student is building an ottoman that wasn't even completed last year. They have to watch videos to use tools that the teacher hasn't even completed training on. The office service is terrible, the grades are unacceptable but it isn't the teacher's fault. The magnet program was something that could have been recommended years ago but not anymore. The lies it harnesses or something I would not want my student to have to engage in. Some teachers are exceptional but that does not equate to the terrible School and how awful it is there is no soap in the bathrooms and according to the school their students safety is their top priority when they can't even get more soap be sanitary bins in the walls have been ripped out according to my students' friends nothing is worse than having to worry about the safety of your child because of their school. Personally I would like my student to be able to wash their hands. But I would also like to have my student not feel pressured into doing things before teachers that can't even give them a good program and life set up for the future. The virtual magnet fair is a LIE to hook students. The school is terrible and I would never recommend it to anybody who wants the best for their child.

This school is in a community where not many parents are involved. Parents need to understand how IMPORTANT it is to be involved during most important time during middle school. It takes teachers, staff, AND parents for student success at schools. Lockhart Middle is doing great, despite the few resources it has from Orange County and despite it being in a low-income community. The schools in this community have dedicated and caring teachers with small 500-800 student enrollment; compared to these "A" schools that students do not get the attention or caring from school staff, maybe due to big student enrollment of 1000+. The school letter grades are not based on the success all year or the quality of teachers and caring of staff; this grade is based on a unstable state test and its this same state that gives schools a letter grade. My sons and daughter we have attended and our families do not think the school grade gives Lockhart Middle the justice it deserves. Lockhart Middle offers many High School Credit Classes and supports the Arts by offering great courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, Music, and Math. Lockhart Middle is a "A" school in our book.

My niece and son came from a elementary school with a great deal of parental involvement, but I do not see much at Lockhart Middle. I see the few PTA members when taking my niece and think it is shameful that more parents do not attend school meeting. Parents must be involved somewhat in their child's school, no matter how busy they are. Middle school students are not grown ups, they still need parent guidance. This will help students get a good education, with the help of their parents. Teachers and school cannot do it alone, it takes a village to raise children. My son will be soon attending Lockhart Middle, a great community school, with staff picking up the slack for parents who CAN but WON"T.
