It really doesn’t offer as many AP’s as your average public school. The Principal is ridiculous and teachers are actually quitting their jobs because of her. We just lost amazing Spanish and anatomy teachers because of Mrs Parmer. The teachers are trying their best I’m sure but I understand why they’re leaving. They are also being replaced by teachers who aren’t actually qualified to teach the things they’re teaching. I won’t call out names but it’s teachers that are teaching required classes. I really think this school was amazing when my siblings went but it has absolutely gone down hill.

I can say no bad about this school. It doesn't matter what you are looking for: academics, athletics, spirituality, acceptance, challenge, preparation, or just a beautiful campus, this is the perfect school.

Simply not cost effective when it comes to private college preparatory high schools. There are not as many AP courses offered at OA as there are at public schools and regular courses do not require much effort. There are a few exceptional teachers-- mainly in the English and science departments, but overall their sale point of "college preparatory" is below par. Many of my classmates dropped out of state universities to pursue trade school, cosmetology school, etc. The academic future academic success of your student does not depend on Oldenburg Academy, but on your student. Socially, OA is just as clique-y and bully prone as any other high school if not worse due to student's belief of superior morality. I would advise to look into more advanced academic programs in surrounding cities such as Indy or Cinci, or stick to BHS, EC, GHS, where dual credit, college level, and AP classes are more advantageous.

The most important decision that we parents have made in our teenage children's lives has been to send them to Oldenburg Academy in Oldenburg, Indiana. When looking at the opportunities they had to excel in academics, along with the chance to play sports and try new activities in an encouraging environment, OA was the obvious choice in comparison with other area schools. Another deciding factor was the overall character of the students and faculty we observed during our visits on campus prior to registering - respectful, mature, and welcoming. Once in the school, it became clear that the class coursework and grading were more difficult than the average high school - helping to affirm that OA is strong in the college preparatory aspect. Students can expect to hone in on critical college skills such as time management, study skills, and writing ability. The administration also has firm behavior and discipline policies, allowing teachers to spend their time and energy on actual class work, as opposed to routine disruptions in the classroom. Classroom size is much smaller than typical large area high schools, enabling more one-on-one learning. OA is a great investment!

My son experience at Oldenburg Academy has been nothing but positive. Many times this year he has thanked my husband and I for sending him to Oldenburg Academy. The school is academically preparing him for college, but at the same time helping him grow as a person. The teachers at Oldenburg Academy care about all their students and it shows.

Oldenburg Academy is the best learning environment for students living in this area. One grandson graduated in 2013 and have a grandson and granddaughter who are students at this time. This has to be the best investment my husband and I have ever made. Almost all students who graduate from this school go on to college. Many lasting friendships are made there and no student is ever left behind. Learning is personalized to fit individual students needs. They learn the skills necessary to not only be successful in college but in their life after college. They achieve all this while still making it a safe, fun, happy place to be. Wish every child in America could have this learning opportunity....it would definitely change our country to a better place to live our lives.

Oldenburg Academy is the most supportive and intuecual school in the tri-state area. As a student there I met new friends and had a blast! The school is close to a college because of the "campus" like feel. There are two buildings that you walk to and you get your exercise. Every teacher and or staff treats with respect and prepares you for your great voyage ahead. Hope you come visit them! -rate five stars!
