I am a 7th grader at mission trail. All the teachers are amazing but there are a few that are not my favorite, but overall the teachers are kind, caring, and want you to be your absolute best. The counselors are amazing and always are willing to talk to you. The principal at mission trail ( Mr Jewett) is a really good principal. He really cares about all of us and does not tolerate people mistreating, bulling or anything that’s not nice to say to others. I really enjoy all my classes ,and I feel like I have learned a lot at mission trail. I recommend Mission Trail because it is the best middle school in Olathe,Kansas.

I definitely agree that this school fails to support the average middle to lower-middle class families and has a big equity problem. If your kids try to participate in any extra curricular activities get ready for the constant emails asking for extra money for this or that. School teachers constantly assigning projects that require parents to go out and spend money on more materials just so that your child can turn in something decent and get a good grade. Or you could choose not to spend the money and then your kid feels like an outsider because everyone else around them has it better than they do. Definitely a HUGE equity problem at this middle school. Good luck getting on the cheerleading squad unless you've invested thousands of dollars in putting your kids through gymnastics. Good luck getting on the volleyball team if you aren't a member of MAVS private volleyball club. They told my daughter to not even try out for certain sports teams unless she's had years of experience. Also, if your kids are in to theater, your kid will only get a decent part if they have parents that donate a lot of stuff or if they are one of the elites who are popular and have money. Also, if you are concerned about your kids having special needs or needing additional assistance then good luck. They will literally try to talk you out of getting any IEP or special assistance as your kids continue to struggle and fall behind. The guy who is in charge of the IEP programs makes it like pulling teeth to even get any kind of assessment done. There are a few really good teachers at this school so not everyone is bad but the inclusion and diversity in this school definitely needs work. There's a big disparity between the haves and the have nots at this school.

I believe that this school is the best above all Olathe middle schools. Great sports teams, great teachers, great learning environment as well. There are of course, “popular” kids that like to try and bully others. But the staff take good care of that and do not tolerate any sort of bullying! This school has great benefits to the Olathe community.

I think MT is a wonderful school. I see some have had negative comments, I wish they could be more specific. I think that the teachers are great and most of the students a kind and thoughtful. You can't have that many staff and students and not have the occasional negative teacher and bully type kids. It is the same at every school. I would recommend this school over any other Olathe school and private school.

Ok, this school is amazing the staff is very helpful lots of the teachers have stayed after work just to help me get smarter, they can connect with there students and have a good mood while teaching them Mission Trail has great art, tech, physical, and music programs ran by great teachers The administration here rocks the fact that they are keeping this place in such good shape and are still coming back the next day that's what leadership is. All of the teachers here do there very best to prevent bulling the kids just aren't speaking up that's the problem. Just the other night we had a drug and bulling prevention themed trick or treat night for kids at school. So I would recommend this school to parents and kids. The staff and kids friendly and easy going.

Mixed feelings, but mostly a positive environment for my student. From a physical safety standpoint, I feel it is a safe learning environment and the Principal, Dr. McMullen, reflects a pleasant, relaxed demeanor while maintaining order. Teachers/counselors are communicative and accessible. I was sorely disappointed with a few staff members in my child's time there, but very pleased with the vast majority of teachers. A young energetic staff, I'd just caution that a few are quick to judge and gossip about the children they serve without getting to know the child or talking to the parents. I would caution staff that it gets back to parents and affects our view of their level of professionalism. Luckily, the other teachers more than make up for the few who waste time this way. I would agree with the reviewer who critiqued the gifted program. It is basically a class with extra independent work and any request for more individualized stimulation is met with an exceedingly nice smile and a "No." Not so stimulating. Great school spirit, great boys' athletics. A variety of great electives offered, and a high- quality education overall.

This school has the most snobbier kids I have ever met, they walk around this school like they own it. And most if the teachers don't even engage with there students. I absolutely am offended by the principle, he doesn't participate in anything, I barely even know what he looks like. I like the vice principle he engages with the students more than the actual principle. A few teachers/staff who I adore are the band, art, orchestra, and a few more but other than that, this school needs to get checked out for what it is teaching these students. Not right at all.

This school is very bad. My kids got bullied and they said they would rather not go to school at all. The teachers are average but don't like engage with the kids.

This is a great school if you have an average child. Don't expect any assistance if your child has difficulties or needs any sort of enrichment. The gifted/quest program is particularly bad and is just a self study program. No guidance from the teacher. If you insist on help, your child will simply be driven out of the program.

This school is great. All the kids there are really friendly and welcoming. I would choose a different and I am a 6th grader there. So I should know.
