9th and 10th grade for my son was good, excellent teacher that met with him and communicated with him and me weekly. Then change in teachers Junior year, poor communication by teacher to son and me. But we made it through barely. Senior year again poor communication. One week before end of 1st semester get call from teacher my son is behind. He works to get everything done and we believe he is caught up, but halfway into second semester get call from new teacher (1st communication by the way) son hasn't hardly done any work, behind and may not graduate. Classes from first semester not done. 4-6 weeks to go and find out concurrent class not passed 1st semester need to do internship 60 hours while doing other work. If you can be your kids teacher, supervise them daily it might be ok for your child. If you have to work and hope school communicates what is going on with your child find another school. School got their state money for sons enrollment so no need to care if graduates.

I am a student in a program through EPIC Charter Schools, and it is exceptional. The teachers truly care and are available just about anytime if I have questions about the material, or need some help. I am in the program since EPIC themselves do not have AP classes, but the program Oklahoma Online Academy does. This is an excellent school whether you are falling behind or ahead of your class, EPIC has a place for you.

My grandson is enrolled there, he is a Special Ed student with an IEP. His teacher is horrible. She does not communicate with him or his mother and I. She is suppose to come out and tutor him and does not. She lies about leaving messages and emails and there are none, then marked him truant when she knew he was going to a funeral. then disenrolled him. When we asked questions during the assignments for help, they were never returned. If she didn't have time for this student or it was too far, she should have given him to another teacher that was competent. Now I have to try to get him re-enrolled, or he is going to lose an entire year of school.

I started epic three years ago when pregnant with my son so I could work on my time. I was withdrawn and had a bad teacher who was not willing to help. I tried again last year to finish my school only to again get withdrawn and have a bad teacher. I started this year with I am going to do this. I am a mother of two kids under the age of two and I am again being withdrawn and had a bad teacher. I am a person that works hard and for a school that is supposed to help you get out of public school drama they themselves bring that drama back into their school by hiring public school teacher to also work for them.

This is our first year with Epic and it has been good and yet challenging. We have two students in the 8th grade and 6th grade respectively. After getting our bearings, they are soaring in school. Their grades have gotten them nominated into the National Junior Honor Society. They are learning to push themselves and discipline their time. The teacher is quick to respond to our needs and questions! The only concern we have is our 6th grader does not have a learning style that does well sitting in front of a computer. We are just coming to this realization and are looking at what we can do about this. Epic has been a positive experience and we look forward to high school here.

Epic has been a huge blessing for our family. My children age 10 and 7 are excelling in school. Our teacher, Kristi Rich is experienced and genuinely wants to help families and students succeed with schooling at home.

When my child needed extra help in reading they provided that opportunity free of charge.

I would love to rate the school as "great" and only limited budgeting and some amount of confusing technology keeps me from doing so. The teachers are excellent and caring, and very communicative. However, this is an online school and their online tools are often very confusing--and we are not new to the school, we've been with it since it opened. The budget is limited, and therefore we cannot do extracurricular activities, which I feel is important for homeschooled kids. That said, it is a WONDERFUL way to homeschool. It offers a full curriculum to support a parent and one can also order workbooks as well. Since you are at home, you are in a safe environment and your kids can learn at their own speed. Epic offers a number of curricula so that you may choose what is best for your child, and you do receive aid from real teachers. They are always available by phone, text, email, OR in person! Which makes for a wonderful relationship.

Epic Online Charter School gives me the opportunity to spend more time with my kids and to be involved in the learning process. We can partner with the teacher to give each child a customized learning experience. The learning fund is such a financial relief, providing supplies and extracurricular opportunities that we couldn't otherwise afford.

We have found Epic to be perfect to meet the needs of our family. We like the flexibility of the curriculum and still have the structure and accountability of a school. When we need to travel, we don't have to worry about missing class and skipping an important concept. We can move at a pace that is best for our kids. When they are having trouble with a concept, we can spend some extra time looking for resources to help reinforce it. If they "get" a concept quickly, they can do the review questions and rapidly move on. I like being involved in what they are learning because it allows me to look for teaching opportunities and lesson application in everyday life. When my kids were in public school, I never really knew what they were learning (because all kids say "nothing" at the end of the day :-). Now, since I know what they are studying, I might see a documentary on Netflix that applies to what they are learning and we can all watch as a family. My 8th grader is learning about personal finance and when we get credit card offers in the mail, we can discussed the real world application of those lessons.Since neither my husband nor I are "trained teachers", we weren't sure how this year would go. Having a teacher back us up has given us confidence and the guidance we need to effectively teach our kids.We both feel that we are the best suited to teach our kids...we known them our whole lives...but we needed a basic structure and someone to back us up. That is where Epic has met our need. If a family is considering a homeschool environment, but isn't sure if they can go it alone, we recommend Epic.

Epic is a fantastic school! If you have a child with an unusual schedule this is the school for you. Not only does it offer great curriculums for kids, they get to go at their own pace. Everything is personalized to how they learn. The teachers are amazing and kind and only want the best for their students. Don't pass this school up!

We love Epic!!! Our teacher, Kristi Rich is amazing. She has helped me guide my student through some difficult areas. We are able to get our work done and focus on other areas he is interested in. It is a wonderful mix of homeschool and public school. He is challenged to do better without peer pressure or bullying. We have been a part of Epic for 2 years. We will continue with it through the rest of school years.

I have 3 High School students with Epic. 2 have graduated with FULL RIDE Scholarships (West Point & The Kings College) and one is a Senior in High School this year. She has already been accepted to every school she has applied to and has been offered partial scholarship to each. Epic has prepared my children for college and career. They adjusted curriculum to allow for advanced studies and slowed down when necessary when they struggled. I truly believe that Epic was responsible for my kids academic success. In this model, they learned time management strategies, academic discipline, and they learned how to actually think. They learned to use resources to figure things out instead of everything being spoon fed to them in brick and mortar schools. These are life skills that will ensure their success in both college and career.

I do not like how they rush our kids to finish there work so they can be out when the public schools is out when they say you can go at your own speed and I wish they could have a website for the other kids to meet each other I feel like some teachers lack keeping the students updated and are slow when it comes to telling them what to do ahead of time but I do like gradpoint for my child I just wish they didn't rush the students to get done with school fast when they didn't start when the public schools did !

Every child learns differently. Epic understands that and gives every child their own individualized learning plan. They allow your child to excel in areas of strength while working on areas of difficulty. There is no clocking in or out. They give each student an $800 learning fund in which you purchase their curriculum, rental of laptops, Internet, educational items or even extra curricular activities. Four years ago I was very skeptical so I just enrolled one of my kids. I was pleasantly shocked. They not only were all those things they said, but they were so much more. I now have six kids enrolled. I believe strongly that parents should have options for their kids education. What works for one, may not work for another. If you want to know more about Epic from a parental view, please feel free to ask me questions on my FB page "School Options in Oklahoma".

As a parent to two young students the B&M school in our area left us wanting more out of the education system our children belong to. Epic allows us choice. Epic encourages our students to grow and be challenged on an individual level. There is no other school in our area available that will asses and individualize to the needs of each student. We are 100% satisfied

I like this school a lot more than other schools! It's been pretty awesome, even in the core subjects. I find it much more comforting doing my schoolwork in my own home, and I can focus more on my work. My friends go to Epic Schools too and we all love it!

Epic Charter School is really a great school. I started going to this school last year as a tenth grader and I love it so far. I've even learned to play guitar using the $800 fund so my parents didn't have to pay a dime. I've had a good time at Epic and I've made plenty of good friends with other students through social meetings and other stuff.
