We moved just to be a part of this school district, because it is superior to the Surrounding counties. No system is perfect, but effort and willingness to improve and do the best thing for the students goes a long way.

A nightmare!!! I love how the above commenter mentioned the gifted program. ... Which consist of mostly teachers kids or kids personally connected to a teacher. They aren't gifted.. Only privileged. While hardworking parents with actual gifted children are put into "undesirable" classes with underachievers. That is my experience with middle school and it spills right over to elementary as well... Except the principal at the elementary is a cold uncaring individual. Your concerns will go unadressed and the answer is always no. They do not care about our children and every parent is the same to them. Though i know all teachers arent the same and id like to praise them for there outstanding gift of teaching and care for my child.. But unfortunately they are very few in ices

This school was an amazing school. I am currently a 6th grade student and attend Irwin County Middle School. I am gifted it not only Language Arts but also Mathematics. I adored most of my teachers while I had conflicting issues with my 3rd and 5th grade teachers. This school is highly rated in my book and I would suggest to anyone with children in this area. The teachers do to the best of their abilities to help both the students and the parents. I was also in the ICES Gifted Program from 2nd Grade until now and I highly recommand that program also. This school is a wonderful school and should never be talked about negatively.
